Lockdowns don’t work. They need to open everything with strict social distancing measures.

Now THAT doesn't work, as we all found out this summer.

We are not Sweden or post-war Britain. We as a society dont have that discipline in us anymore. 40 years of neo-liberalism and the worship of the individual's "right" to do what they want have seen to that.

This country's population is infantile.

I may have missed it, but unless I am mistaken, you dont catch this like a cold. You have to be close to someone who has it, or, really unlucky, and get it on your hands when shopping or putting petrol in the car. Then touch your face. Or mask.

So SD, mask, wash your hands SHOULD protect you, and others.

Lockdowns cause much more problems. Whether you like it or not, the economy is very important and the effects of poverty will kill more people than the virus itself.

To be fair, it is hard to see how they could possibly meet the demands of Greater Manchester MPs. Somebody has to think of all the huge private contracts to Tory donors the economy.

Burnham as tried is best to get a better deal here in Manchester , but the reality is the tories have the final say so we have to accept this , but why has after 7 month a proper testing method not been in place , they have spent tens of milions on phoney private cowboy merchants yet they give our great Northern cities pitiful amounts of help , us Mancs and Scousers should never trust the tories and how does the working class red wall feel now

Not being funny mate, and maybe your post was a typo. But are you seriously saying that not being stuffed together in a close area is a new concept to you?

My point is mate that for example you can't go the gym in say Southport but you can travel 10 minutes down the road in Lancashire and go. Makes no sense.

Its not as easy as that tho is it RayRay.

To use an example, my missus works in a car dealership, they normally have 4 people on her desk, 2 of them are currently off, 1 has had Corona for the last 5 weeks, the other has just started a 2 week isolation due to her whole family coming down with it. She will see roughly 50 or so people a day, she hasn't had a dinner break for the last 6 weeks, never mind find time to wash her hands 100 times a day.

For people like me and you, its dead easy, but for people like my missus, its practically impossible.

Also to add, 1 of the fella missus is currently in ICU, he's said he's going crazy at home so they have allowed him to come into work, to take his mind off things, despite him testing positive last week............

Nah meant tier 3 areas that have different restrictions. Bloody nonsense. The virus doesn't go in gyms in Lancashire but does in Merseyside. Ridiculous lol.

Yeah, totally get that. Said for months that folk who have little choice but to be in a higher risk situation than others, must suck. Makes the responsibility for those who have a choice to shield to be taken seriously.

Likewise, you can take your kid from Lancashire to a kids play place in Merseyside - 10 mins away.
