Seen mentions that police will be able to get access to patient information from the track and trace app in case by case basis.

Great idea.....that will get people to download it..........
It's not the app, but test and trace data as a whole.

Understandably, it will worry some people, but in reality on a case-by-case basis they'll be able to request some simple data: should a person be isolating.

It's to support enforcement (e.g. evidence that someone has tested positive or should be at home). Perhaps, the people who are worried have a reason to?

Data suggests that only 8-11% of people who should be isolating are for the full period, with some not at all, so this will provide a mechanism to enforce.

In order to make any sense, positive cases must be expressed as a percentage of the tests carried out.
That's the only way we can follow the trend

Agreed but its also a reasonable assumption that testing capacity has not increased by multiples of x30-50 in line with number of new cases since the July lull.

Have they been contacted? Does it include the massive percent that the piratised element are failing to contact?

Am I right in thinking everyone asked to isolate is provided with 500quid to cover some salary lost?

What about the people who are simply ignoring the requirement due to none of the reasons above? Should there be no ability to enforce? As I said, it’s case by case.

I thought there was mate, Johnson's mentioned it in the HoC iirc.
Just trying to understand the financial tensions people may have in this regard, before I label them 'freedom loving'.

I don’t think anyone gets anything off the government, it’s up to the employers to cover the cost.

I know in my missus case ( NHS ) her self isolation period wasn’t recorded in her sickness record.

Yeah, that's bad, however I was simply asking you for clarification purposes whether you knew how that stat. arose, because, for all we know, you or I could possibly be part of that stat having not been contacted.

Oh sorry, I took it another way - apologies. It was a medical study that was funded by the government and something I had heard, but can’t source right now.

Link to the government study is here.

Same here when I was forced to isolate back in march , doesn't go on the record.

Lad in work has managed to have 2 of them this far and he has tested positive once , although he was just off sick at the time.

In a way I'm going to miss my mandatory isolation, I now have no excuse not to get dressed in the morning and I can no longer make any excuses for ordering uber eats.

Oh, yeah, I wasn't asked by the staff at Luton Airport to produce my passenger locator form and I've had zero contact from the authorities to make sure that I was at home.
