Daily infections up 2000 today. 6000 plus in last 24 hours.

Where? How?

Get the distinct impression we have right royally screwed this up. Having the pubs closed an hour earlier aint going to change anything.

Mercifully, admissions are still easily within coping range, and probably not much different from last year; hope so anyrate.

It's following the same pattern as France and Spain, both of which have seen similar spikes, albeit a few weeks ahead of us.

Trouble is, as alarming as it sounds, we have no idea what daily infections were back in March/April. But some commentators were using recent data and applying it to conditions back then, and estimating they could have been 100,000 a day.

Following that logic, what are hospital figures like in France and Spain?

Supermarkets should have the limited purchases in now.
Huge sales on bogs rolls, pasta and home baking products today in my place.

Shop sensibly FFS.

Folk, hopefully, will remember the supermarkets were fantastic earlier in the year, and once the panic buying was stopped, nothing was a problem. I have seen no difference at all in the last few days.

Just been told we have an update tonight. Think we will limit numbers in store again and amount people can purchase.
A little late, but should keep things ticking over ok.

This was always going to happen again. There's been a bit of hysteria about lockdown over the last few days and people seem to lose all rational thought.

Do people actually think they are going to be left to starve?

Bit strong that mate.

This lad offered to send nappies to a young mum on here when she was struggling to get them earlier in all this. Offered to help Mrs R out with sommet as well, if we had a problem getting it.
MG can be a very angry man when he wants to be

Not a chance mate, been stocking up all summer for this.

I aint going to be the social care version of the nurse thank you very much.

Thinking about the “learn to live with the virus” discussion, to put another perspective on it does the origin of the virus ever actually get discussed anymore? I’m sure we can all remember when wet markets, secret labs and sanctions against China were in the news everyday and now not much is really said.

Will the truth ever come out? Or is just accepted that it’s here now and we have to deal with it?
