Early pub closures are one of those weird rules that sort of do nothing. I get they don't want people hammered as then the distancing drops but what's stopping people going out earlier getting hammered and mixing? Surely it just needs bar staff to say when they've had enough and a presence outside so they don't congregate. Shorter hours will just lead to more people being in the same place at the same time to me.
And more afterpartys...

so probs be even worse

Its filtering through that the 6 people thing actually isnt “law” and everybody knows it now...

There basically just guidlines at this stage

Thinking the same way too, how long can there be lockdowns followed by an easing back into normality then lockdown again, rinse and repeat.

My uneducated opinion is we (worldwide) should have done a longer lockdown months back and really tried to eliminate this thing instead of 90% (guess??) getting on top of things than let it slowly fester back.

Are we still going to be living in limbo in 5-10 years time like this?
People would tire of it. Lockdown fatigue would kick in.

Agreed, the vibe I get is that the majority of those probably spreading the virus now are already past they point. The government had a few months good grace and patience from the populace to get their house in order, they instead chose to lie and profiteer amongst themselves and cummings mates. Breaks my heart to think of the hard work and sacrifice from so many being wasted

This sums it up pretty well
Then you see boris shooting ducks etc

It's just asking people to be sensible isn't it? We can basically still do a lot of the stuff we ordinarily could, but if we act like knobheads, then it's going to be restricted or stopped completely.

Liverpools dosent seem too botherd though thats my point, i personally dont see it changing much and even if it does ite all temporary, because as soon as things back open, infections go up ( obviously)
I've no idea why some parts of the country are so much worse than others. Around me you will almost never see anyone without a mask in any supermarket or other type of shop. Yesterday I went up to our office in Bury for the first time in months. I called into a local Asda to get a sandwich and I was one of the few wearing a mask. Not surprisingly Bury is one of the main at risk areas at present. I'm baffled by the attitude to be honest. Maybe it will change if and when the death rate goes up, but by then we'll be back in full lock-down and it will have been brought about, at least in part, by people not even bothering to do the basics.

You can go to a pub and be close to loads of people, but I can’t have the parents round for a Sunday lunch ?
It just doesn’t make any sense to me anymore.
Christmas keeps getting mentioned as well by government, clearly a scare tactic.
Just can’t believe how badly this has been handled now.

I went to Sainsburys the other day for one of their in "made in store" Ham and Mushroom pizzas. None around, and at checkout was told they couldnt do them "cos of covid"

In there today, and back making them now.
