You said you didn't;t have any proof and they shouldn't be blamed, but here you were saying it could well be them anyway.

Yes, it could be. It doesn't mean they're to be "blamed", it could be simply cultural structures that precipitate their communities being more vulnerable to spikes of infections. Could be.

I've repeatedly said, clearly, they're not to be blamed. You simply didn't read it. You read what you wanted to read.

If you were a decent person now, you'd say "fair enough" - but you won't.

This is what I took issue with originally but you argued against my post? o_O

It's another trope of yours to suggest that somehow your argument is the only reasonable one. You have no evidence to show Asian populations caused a spike yet you still come in with, 'it's worth asking the question'. It's not even that we know they caused a spike and looking for reasons you're just saying, 'maybe the Asians?' and then saying, 'but I don't blame them' as if that's some form of cover.

When? I've just checked back briefly and at no stage did I disagree with you about the danger of apportioning blame; I just stated that speculation was pretty much inevitable due to the circumstantial evidence in terms of the areas being locked down and the pre-existing fact that Asian communities are more pre-disposed to being effected by it.

But there is evidence. 30 spike areas, most if not all with large asian communities, the fact that minority has been hit disproportionately overall, the timing of it before Eid... there's tons of it. All circumstantial.

My point was that this enables people to speculate and shouldn't be blamed for doing so, but conversely there's no evidence they should be blamed for it, even if it turns out to be the case.

What you're doing is covering your eyes and ears and pretending there's no evidence, and anyone making the link and speculating is racist. Which is bloody bonkers.

You should be apologising. You really should be, because you didn't read what I said, you made a disgusting comment - but instead you're doubling down. Which is disgusting frankly.

Well I took issue with MrBurnley’s stance because it wasn’t in the realms of speculation anymore. That’s how this whole convo started tonight haha.

Ha ha, bloody hell, 'disgusting', I jokingly called you a definite non-racist. I'm sorry it upset you so.

I never said speculating is racist. I did say it might expose inbuilt prejudices when you have no proof but you are 'speculating' that Asian people might have caused more of the spike. You can keep saying you shouldn't blame the Asian population but you are doing nothing but adding to any fire of bigotry that suggests this is somehow the fault of the Asian population, or the working class population, or anybody but a government that has handled it appallingly. The fact you refuse to look at your own language or 'speculation' as part of a larger thing is disgusting frankly.

I came in at this making a light joke based on your appearance, repeatedly, in threads taking the side of the establishment and often against the minority. I got a bit hot headed and antagonistic after what I felt was your inability to accept that you have inbuilt prejudices or you can be in the wrong. I apologise if that meant this conversation got off track in to the point of whether you are a racist. As I said repeatedly, I didn't call you that and I am sorry if I wasn't clear. I won't however, back down from the belief that your language and commentary is not as balanced and not blaming a community as you think it is.
