My living situation is normal. Or so I thought.

I do have a recognised address and an nhs and national insurance number. Put legitimate information into the website but it wont send me one cos it cant check my address for some reason. Then it says go to a drive in test but I dont have a car or small van. I don't imagine I'm the only person who has tried this and failed to get a test delivered.

To be honest I don’t think an online system not recognising an address is particularly weird or unbelievable. Maybe a bit harsh on the weightlifter there.

Admittedly it was a few weeks back but my elderly uncle with high COVID risk factors couldn’t get one either. They ended up just phoning him occasionally to check he was OK but it caused a huge ammount of entirely unnecessary and counter productive stress.

I’ve just phoned 119 to try and do it via there.

They answered within a minute and he couldn’t process me over the phone either.
Said I’ve got to drive to get tested in the morning.

Very frustrating.

Making testing easy and quick, especially for the most vulnerable who are likely to be those without transport, is a key way to keep minor outbreaks from becoming major problems. You’d think this many months in we’d have a handle on it.
