Because half the air is recycled through HEPA filters, and the other half is fresh air in every full cycle. Depending on the length journey with a 50:50 fresh air/recycle ratio you have a full exchange of the air in the cabin at least 50 odd times I would say. Far more exchanges that happen in a stationary building with far higher filter standards as per regulations. You are absolutely not breathing the same air the entire flight, that simply isn't true
No but if it can spread in a shop then it can absolutely spread in an aeroplane as well. Same as everything other than locking your front door keeps you safe from the virus.

But one is deemed fine and the other not? In fact it's fine for people to wear masks in shops but not the staff? Isn't that putting them at risk? Exactly the same premises but one is magically immune?

It's fine to protest but not to go the beach? It's fine to go to an office depending on where you work but not ok to go and have a family get together. It's fine to go and queue up and shop in town but it's not fine to queue up and go and visit a band playing even at social distance rules?

There isn't any logic to this.

“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, Big Al here, I’m your pilot for today, bit bevvied like, but I’ll open the window and get a bit of fresh air in and I’ll be sound”

Who has said you can't go to the beach? Most staff in the shops I've been too have either been wearing PPE or have been working behind screens etc. The number that are wearing nothing at all must be incredibly low. Similarly, families are allowed to visit one another, and even live events are being tested out. What exactly is it you have a problem with?

The last few pages you mean?
I'm just saying the logic that you can apply to one thing isn't applying to another. Surely everything has to have a blanket approach to it if the purpose of it is the same? Otherwise you are literally picking and choosing what is deemed ok, or being told which ones are fine and which aren't.

If masks are fine in big shops they should be fine in small shops. If going abroad is fine then outdoor concerts here should he fine. If you can mass gather protest fine then you should be able to mass gather at events fine at socially distanced rules.

why is one thing fine and another not given the same perimeters?

Who polices the self-isolation for returning Brits? I mean surely people willing to risk going abroad now would hardly be the ones to take isolation seriously. or am I being meanspirited? is it the honour system. some of the posts I see on FB are not social distancing while abroad at all, so why would hey when home!

Also, say you have taken 2 weeks off work for your jollies...is your job going to allow for an extra 14 days?

I went shopping Saturday and only one shop had the staff with ppe. It was a small card shop with one employee on the shop floor serving. That also includes Asda , Iceland , bm , heron , Poundland .

So it wasn't an isolated case, pretty much every shop I visited didnt have any staff protected. Same as other stores I have been to in the past have not had them. Haven't been to town so can't comment on that front but I'm sure one of us have.

Where are these live events happening? I haven't seen a single concert show or gig announced any time soon. They are all still shut down. Yet if me and my mates and co off Facebook want to go and protest something then nothing wrong there.

Families can visit under certain rules, but I can't get all the family together in my house? That's breaking the rules but if me and a load of strangers all go and buy from trainers or want to do shopping (which supermarkets have stopped restricting numbers now) then that is perfectly allowed.

I think I've spotted the problem

Right so I'm a Spanish resident and I'm planning on going to visit my mum in the UK and remain in her house for 7 days then fly back. I can't see anything that says if this is possible or not but I can't do 14 day s so won't be able to quarantine for 14. Just wondering if anyone has seen any info on this or where I can find out if I will be able to avoid hassle at the airport.
