its the same with trains, especially rush hour. It’s why many companies are starting to implement agile/remote working to try and keep as many people away from large groups as possible

The tube at peak times especially must be viral suicide surely?

In the morning from Broadway to Kennington i am literally up jammed in place with four or five people around me.

Its impossible to do that journey without touching people. In fact it forms the backbone of my sex life. But anyway I've been coughed, sneezed and breathed on daily. And there are millions of us little kamakazi worker bees doing this morning and evening.
Turn off the tube?

Woke up this morning feeling even worse than I did yesterday. Called NHS Direct again, they said that if they continue to *worsen* until Tuesday then call them with a reference number.
One guy had it and he was an asthmatic he telephoned LBC to tell everyone caught it at a football game 111 are not doing test just self isolate and if it gets unbearable then use your ref number - he recovered and is now in two weeks isolation....

When do you think mate? They may announce it tomorrow as people and businesses will already be prepared not to be open on Tuesday it may be the easiest transition.

Taoiseach may use special powers to force pubs and clubs to close. Galway Vintners have already asked their members to shut for next 2 weeks.

I agree that it is daft opening workplaces tomorrow for one day, allowing further spread amongst employees, then closing Tuesday for a very downbeat National Holiday- by that stage I think shutdown will be inevitable.

Therefore if it was up to me I would announce it today, with exception of vital services and shops.

It's all gone mate. Some blooming virus destroyed the stock market.

Good answer Bruce!

On a more serious note regarding finances, I explained to my wife this morning the impact of an extension to the 3 April deadline for football. The potential loss of TV revenue for the top flight teams, the potential legal wrangle if the season is never completed, the potential financial mess lower league clubs could find themselves in through no income through the turnstiles, the potential overlap of a season being finally completed into the opening of the next transfer window and the potential storm that could induce regarding promtion/relegation teams wading into the transfer market. Not given that any thought. Potentially, utter chaos. And that translates to other sports as we know. Wimbledon - if it doesn't take place, massive work on refunds on ticket sales. We are only at the start of what could prove to be a cataclysmic time for sport worldwide, aside from the health considerations which we haven't a clue as to how things will be in one, two, three, six months time.
