I believe that you now have to book a time slot in advance to visit an art gallery. This is sucking all the joy and spontaneity out of life.
I get the thinking behind this.
If COVID is here to stay for some time, and not having to plan everything beforehand becomes a thing of the past, then it will indeed remove a lot of the fun involved in life.
I'm not massively bothered about the pubs being open or not, but I do like being able to nip in for a pint and a chat occassionally. Signing in and out isn't a problem, but if all the tables are in use, then you're goosed.
Turning up on spec at a restaurant kind of becomes a thing of the past. Not much of a problem in the UK, but, on holiday abroad, when you're walking about of an evening and decide where to eat based on the number of locals in there ...
One of the joys of Island hopping in Greece outside out the main season is buying a ticket to some random place at the kiosk 30 mins before the boat leaves and sorting out your accomodatiion when you arrive. Not impossible in COVID times, but it'll be harder.
All the public health reasons for removing the spontaneity are good ones, but I really hope that new norm doesn't go on for ever.
