36 is the overall figure for the day, down 64 on yesterday and 7 on last Sunday. This brings the 7 day rolling average down narrowly to 115.57 with the earlier hospital figure bringing that average down to an even 54. This the averages per day as 16.5 and just under 8 respectively

Interesting, but I do wonder if we're not assessing things prematurely. The Swedish people I've heard have generally accepted that the situation there will be worse to begin with but look better in the end.

Must be some people wearing several masks as it's about 40-60% by me if it's not forced by the store.

edit: Think the problem is with the question, it should have the qualifier "when not made mandatory by the store" % would likely go through the floor.

Masks are in theory mandatory across all of California now, and have been in my county from March.

Most stores are enforcing the policy but compliance drops markedly for things like local building contractors etc.

That's the oddest thing by me. Home depot very few masks, even the "greeter", think he was lower management, had no mask. Contrast that with Menards, who i saw as lower grade and more "local" and they made them mandatory and sold you one at the door for a buck if you tried to enter without.

The house opposite us sold in March and the new owners have been doing lots of work on it before they move in later in the week. Don’t think I have seen a single mask on anyone the entire time - even the painters who you think would have been wearing them under normal conditions!

All the regular pubs by me have got together and aren`t opening until Monday 6th July.

I`ve got to take me hat off to them, it must`ve been very tempting to open up on Sat 4th July and coin it in, especially as 4 other places in the locality will be opening that day.

I’m pretty sure I read that Ferguson’s imperial model was applied to Sweden as a case study and it estimated they’d be reaching 100,000 deaths by the end of June if they didn’t implement an official lockdown.

I’m neither an advocator or a critic of the Swedish methods of combating this but I do wonder how history will view them compared to other nations who locked down hard.
