What is it with these meat factories? There's been a big new outbreak centred on a meat processing factory in Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany.
Perhaps we need to give up meat factories.
Without becoming too political about it the factories use a lot of agency staff, a large number of these are from romania.... now I have absolutely no problem with that ... I do have a problem with dubious practices the factory and the agencies use ... up to 12 people sharing a house... 6 on day shift and 6 on night shift .... your bed is still warm when you climb into it.... there’s also a distinct lack of social distancing on sight ... it can’t be avoided apparently. It’s akin to modern slavery... despicable practice.

They've only been around about a year, but the personnel doesn't inspire confidence. The head of digital, for instance, is the boss of the south London AHSN, and the AHSNs are generally speaking bloody hopeless. Her academic background is English literature. The 'director of innovation' is an NHS lifer, which given how poor innovation is generally across the NHS. The CEO was a former ambassador to Israel who somehoworother got cybersecurity gigs.

It's not exactly a crack team for what is supposed to be the crack unit in terms of digital.
TBH Bruce I don't know a great deal about them. What I do know I pretty much picked up from your own posts and links.

The reason I brought them up in the first place wasn't really to criticise them, God knows they have a difficult enough job on at the moment without me throwing my ten pence worth in. The OP insinuated in his post that the contact tracing app was some sort of backhanded gimme to some Tory Minister's chum, and I just wanted to point out that it was given to an actual government department to sort out.

Think you will find its about the meat, easy transmission.

But sure, take the FORENS angle, I'm sure it will get more traction in here with the amount of FOREN hating racists that voted Brexit.

Social distancing is key, hence why the scientists have backed away from any decision in reducing. However, it shows the testing and contact tracing is working well.
