Primark TK Maxx and Sports Direct. That's all I've seen mentioned today in terms of 'footfall'.

I sense a media and political class wanting to hype this up.

Teenagers and twenty somethings buying bits or gear aren't going to impact the economy much. The big spenders are middle aged and pensioners, and they will, by and large, be staying put.

Its a start, thats all.

Mad thing is, pretty much most stuff in those shops you could buy in Asda or Sainsburys anyrate. And deffo online, which has been at peak X 2 for months.

Just triffic. Sport, well footie, is on the horizon, and Talksport reverts to being dull and predictable again, after being brilliant while there was no sport in sight.

Amazeballs.

Honestly couldn't care less about this season. Don't think I can take football seriously again until it's played in front of a crowd.

I guess like many I will be a curious viewer when a FTA match is on. But being a footie fan, I will be as interested in hearing the players using sweary words as much as anything.

A stampede to buy utter tat, and it places the public health at risk.

What a 'kin country.

Online stuff, like the stuff I used to do, (not groceries) has been mental for months mate. I spoke to a lad the other day, and his depot, at Christmas, has circa 17000 items every day. Currently, well last week, its at 44000.

The most I ever had in one day was 130. The lad who took over my patch, at the last time I saw him, was doing 240. A day. (Thats 12 hours on the road, plus 2 hours loading). 7 days a week, inc Bank Holidays.

Doing a great job they are. Deserve all the money they get and more.

Coining it mate. I got 90p per drop, the lads in the vans are £1.30 iirc.

Whats that, £300 a day, ish? 7 days a week. Gross. (90% are "self employed", kinda).

One lad who pops round my house when he has a delivery in the village, (all the houses are names, not numbers, delivery lad hell), to ask me where it is/ask me to sign for it, said they are pretty pleased the shops are opening though this morning!
