Doubt anyone hates older people here, but really when this sort of disaster happens people should be free to point out that this looming disaster is the outcome of what other people voted for.
Look at gig work for example - some people warned for years that it would leave people in an unstable, financially precarious state. They were ignored. People (including a lot of experts and medical staff) said that reducing the capacity of the NHS whilst making it more expensive to run (thanks to PFI and the rest) was a daft idea. They were ignored, and threatened in some cases.
We've had an orthodoxy of economic and social policy over the past thirty years that has brought us to this point; people have to understand that it is wrong or things are going to get even worse. I don't hope Tories die as the result of this, but they are going to and so are a lot of others, with even more following them unless we as a country change course.
I've seen dozens of posts on this forum with an anti age rhetoric, and lots of very negative references to the baby boom generation. To say it doesn't exist is just burying your head.
And I have no problem with what you say above. Arguing genuine political points is one of the things this country is built on. It may surprise you but I'm not one of the people who voted this government in, and in this very thread I've been critical of them for not doing enough to help, not just those in the GIG economy, but also those who are freelance or self employed and will not qualify for SSP.
What I do have a problem with though, is that it has become acceptable on here to say whatever you want about anybody who is perceived to be Brexiteers or Tory supporters. You can be as abusive or derogatory as you like, even in a generic way, and it is never picked up or monitored. For instance, all Tories are scum is a phrase you see all the time on here and it's just accepted. It even has it's own thread FFS. But if you said all travellers are scum, you would be rightly pilloried on here for making such an incorrect generalisation. The hypocrisy and double standards in here at times is astonishing.
