See the thing is, you've spent a weekend defending someone who has clearly lied and broken rules (which others have been punished for) and winding people up for your amusement, on a thread where people have told you how deeply this has affected them - all the while maintaining that you 'don't care' and now, it's just an enjoyment for you.
Where we differ, and your assumption about my motives I suspect reveals your true position, is that my issue isn't wanting Cummings sacked (although he should be) it's the fact that by his behaviour he's completely undermined the credibility of a Government message which will have consequences for the health service and the public.
So forgive me if I do care and don't think it's a jolly good schoolboy lark.

As someone who lost a grandmother and wasn’t able to say goodbye due to lockdown this has made me especially furious, how anyone can stick up for Cummings or side with scum like Boris, Gove, Raab, and Hancock is a cretin of the highest order
The UK government torpedoing their entire pandemic lockdown/self isolation strategy during a pandemic to protect the prime ministers mate seems pretty real stuff tbh.

We all hope that it isn’t the case but the “Cummings exception” to self-isolation when infected is wide enough to drive a double decker bus through.
Exactly. It barely matters if he stays or goes now. The public who have sacrificed will continue to do so, but, and I hope it's a minority, the public that feel they are above the rules will use this as an opportunity to do the same and they have a complete catch all excuse endorsed by the PM and the Attorney General.
