If Johnson stands up there, defends him and then is proven by irrefutable evidence (which the Mirror and Guardian may well have) to have lied to the nation then Cummings is not going to be the highest profile person to resign over this.

Apologies if this has been raised previously but is this true? If so, I’m assuming it makes it very similar to SARS 1 in that it burned itself out and essentially made a vaccine redundant?

Does this mean the dreaded second wave is unlikely?

The reality is that in countries where lockdown ended as long ago as a month, there doesn’t seem to be much of a second wave. As you say it might be very similar to SARS but hopefully the vaccine is finished in this case.

He might, but his base is not Trumps base. All the Tories I know are even more outraged by this than I am.

he must have, though if thats the case then his spokesperson lied to the country on the 31st of March (when they said Cummings was in London) and probably in the statements yesterday and Friday night (given that the PM authorising it would have been a defence)
