I haven't seen any research, but I do wonder what this pandemic has done to the anti-vax crowd. Logically you'd think it might highlight the value of vaccines, but equally there's so much mistrust and fear at the moment that I worry it might have done the opposite.

I can see where you are going wrong here.....

There was a poll in the US in April that indicated support for hard anti vaxxing had dropped 30%.

Then the nutters decided Bill Gates had invented Covid 19 cos wanted to give everybody an x box live account intravenously or something.

Same here. Indian places as well.

If we fancy a burger, we make our own. They are sound.

We've ordered out from a couple of local restaurants on a Friday. And I've had some crafty curries because it's one of the only things I miss about Britain.

My girlfriend broke and ordered Quick (belgian maccies) last night, though.

I think it will still take a bit of time for the impact of that to be reflected in deaths. Fingers crossed the impact is as small as possible though.

EDIT: Got mixed up a bit then. Hospital admissions could well have been going up in the time frame between now and VE day, so this is very good news indeed.

Hospital admissions across the country are steadily dropping, which is good news.

Possibly not so good is that in some areas ( including the NW and the Midlands ) the number of people in hospital with COVID is pretty flat. There could be all sorts of reasons for that, and not all of those reasons are negative, but it needs keeping an eye on at local levels, especially if admissions aren't dropping in those particular areas.

Bozo will be made up...he can now blame the 'plebs" (as he calls them) for any further 2nd wave.
I was stood at the bottom of Grassendale / Cressington Esplanade and there were people sprawled out on the grass, whereas usually it's very quiet.

When I looked over to Otterspool Prom, it was like everybody had forgotten there was a fairly deadly and infectious virus spreading throughout the city.

Caldies was packed today, but in fairness everyone was keeping their distance.

However if you had an agenda and wanted to portray people misbehaving, it wouldn`t have been hard to make a photo look exactly like that.

"So far in 2020, the number of people dying is more than 40,000 higher than the average in the past five years, showing the devastating toll the pandemic has taken."

Wonder what's killing them Pete, is there a War on?
Is it though?

Throughout all of this people forget that on average 1000 people die anyway each day.

To say it's 40000 higher than normal means we are looking at a very significant death number every single day which has not been the case. Certainly not the case in Liverpool.

Plus if it is 40000 higher currently then every single covid death was fit well and was never dying unless they caught the virus. Which is not the case neither.
