It is having an effect, but you’re going to get stupid people thinking they are above it and invincible by doing all they can to defy it. That’s where most other countries have us and the US beat, because their populations have been sensible about sticking to lockdown guidelines

Looking at czech rep and further afield to asian countries like taiwan and singapore closing the borders swiftly helped a lot too. It's all been half measures here.

Singapore are having major problems.

Taiwan were the first to find out the Chinese were lying...reported it to WHO who ignored them.

True. Singapore is now in the stuff, I defer to your post. A friend in Taiwan told me that shes gone into self isolation for 2 weeks cos she passed through a subway station that someone with it had been traced passing through. We just dont have that level of self discipline here within a lot of the population.

Thats exactly the words i was looking for "self discipline".

The Asian mentality is so different to that of Europe...when people are told to stay home -- they stay home.

Only going out when they have no food. Theres no exercise allowed or going out without a mask in most countries out here.

From media reports and this thread its vastly different in the west.
