We can still look at those as examples but unfortunately we did not act quickly enough in the early stages (end of Jan, through Feb) so we are where we are now aren't we, and all we can do atm is continue the lockdown while upping the tests.
Testing time on Johnson and his bozo's on planning.

It will be after all this is over
Trump should be goosed in the US after this, blaming the WHO now and saying they will withdraw funding.

Proved beyond any doubt when you have a crisis the last person you want incharge is Trump, called Covid a hoax by the Democrats when they were attacking him for not taking it seriously 6 weeks ago.

USA on course for a massive death toll and the worst results in dealing with this worldwide.

When it's over, there will be a lot of questions and criticism, which I think will be fairly just. Right now, people should concentrate on the here and now.
Other countries were better prepared for the here and now, very concerning for us all, our government and their experts are 3rd rate compared to Germany South Korea etc. The war Johnson and Cummings have waged against the expertise in the civil services, now looks as it sounded churlish ideology for the easy minded.

Good luck with that mate. Half of them are planning the next revolution in here.

Having twice voted Tory I realise it maybe easier if I catch CV-19. Having said that I also voted 3 times for Blair so I may be up for the full Mel Gibson treatment

I get the idea of getting behind people and trying to keep it apolitical and certainly speaking for myself I’ll support anyone that gives us a workable solution and One that minimises the national harm and I genuinely mean that .

That said we’re being lied to on a daily basis , that’s obvious and I’m sorry the messages are confused .

We’re going to go from 14,000 tests to 100000 a day in a couple of weeks ? The pm isn’t on oxygen , oh he is . Schools are the safest places , no they aren’t were closing them , yes they are we’re opening them . We’re can’t test as there is shortage of chemicals, oh actually there isn’t . There is no risk to large gathering , we’re cancelling all gatherings as they’re dangerous . People should stay at home that’s the clear message , well unless you can’t work from home and your boss want you in . Herd immunity is the way to go , we never suggested herd immunity was a tactic .

Even government experts are saying there is no exit strategy at this , I’m not say they don’t care nor am I advocating revolution or calling them mass murderers but I’m also not particularly keen on just blindly following whatever they say particularly when a lot of it seems at best confused and at worst down right deceitful.

This goes beyond politics - it is looking more like gross dereliction of executive duty.

Well I’m sorry that’s exactly the thing that needs to be questioned . It’s all well and good to clap for Johnson and all pull together in a national crisis but questions have to be asked . However it does read like certain people are being thrown under the bus there .

But that’s not what many people, including myself, are actually advocating or suggesting. There has to be a balance of support and justified questions/criticism.

My point is that I personally feel that we should be focusing on what they are doing now in preparation for the future - that's where our questions should be aimed.

In fact, many of your own concerns are my own, but I don't feel that it is currently right to be too focused or concerned about what's happened in the past.

How prepared we were a few weeks ago etc. or the state of NHS funding over the past few years really aren't the relevant questions to be asking right now.

How prepared we are now, what the funding is now and what equipment we've got now and in the future, including testing, is where our concerns should lie.

When it's all over, there'll be ample time to ask all the questions and vent about how prepared we were, and I think the evidence itself will be quite telling.

I'm not a supporter of Boris in the slightest, but I'd rather him and his cabinet were given the support to guide us through this, with a fair level of questioning.

After this, I think the public will do their talking with their votes.

Should get an idea of isolation extension tomorrow night.

Be interesting to see if they extend by a significant amount or a small one. 2 weeks is the minimum but could be longer.
