Honestly think it's around 700 in the past 24 hours but they've had a backlog because of their abysmal admin over the weekend.

Was just going to edit my post.

It's following the same pattern as last week, almost exactly in terms of the lag effect.

Sunday 29th - 209
Monday 30th - 180
Tuesday 31st - 381

April 5th - 621
April 6th - 439
April 7th - ~900

Not sure it's fair to label it abysmal admin though, probably just the reality of hard working staff having time off over the weekend.

It's make or break now in terms of our trend versus other similar countries.

Both Italy and Spain hit their peak (touch wood) once hitting around 900 daily deaths.

France has gone over this to 1300 but has decreased markedly since.

Bear in mind our population is quite a bit bigger than Spain (and similar to France). Obviously there's a lot more to it than that, but absolute numbers aren't directly comparable in some cases.

I was wondering why they aren't looking at number of cases/deaths per capita or something like that. I guess there's a reason for it

My cousin's 2 year old has been taken to hospital in an ambulance today with breathing difficulties. They hope it might just be a chest infection but for some reason they've not done a CV test, as far as I'm aware.
The really worrying thing is that they have a newborn with cysticfibrosis. If the virus has already passed to the baby, I hate to think :(
Just heard the 2 year old is negative for CV. Just a normal chest infection which shouldn't give her too much trouble. Big relief for her and the newborn.
