Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

He’s probably developed Pneumonia, happens 10-14 days after initial symptoms.

Probably smoked lots of cigars in his time.

Almost certainly the case.

What I take exception to is the blatant lie that he has "mild" symptoms and it's a "precaution" - for two reason. First, is it bollocks true. Second, by saying so, he's encouraging anyone who is in a mild condition to run the hospital now because if that pillock can, why can't anyone else?

I weirdly sort of hope they have.

Because if his symptoms are mild and it's a precaution, there's thousands upon thousands of people in this country who have been told to self-isolate rather than go to hospital in those circumstances.

TBF I'd have thought they would have made every effort - up to and including having medical staff and equipment ready in Downing Street in case he needed ventilation - to avoid this. I can only assume he must be rather more ill than described.

They would have.

So clearly he's not suffering "mild" symptoms and it isn't a precaution. It's a blatant lie - there's a serious situation with him.

I actually get why they're lying to "reassure the public" that their leader (for want of a better word to describe the waste of space) is OK, but it's such a harmful lie when the aim is to not overwhelm the NHS.

Yes, but I suppose this is yet another example of their reflex lying. If he is seriously ill then people would accept this; if he is going to sniff around nurses then not.

Whether we agree or not, it's a bit silly to suggest the PM won't be taken to hospital if he's ill.

Same goes for any head of state or senior figure in any government.

The narrative about prince Charles was just bizarre. He got a test because he's their to the throne. Why were people surprised ?

People weren't surprised about Charles/Johnson et al getting tests - they were just highlighting the obvious; the inherent unfairness of society where one life is valued over another.

I have no issue with Johnson being taken to hospital when he's ill - I do however have a problem with them lying about his condition, at a time when "regular Joe" is being told not to go near a hospital if they're "mild" and certainly not "as a precaution".
