We basically have been shocking at defending set pieces since Moyes left. It was a bad joke under Martinez, wasn't great under Koeman, and has been laughable under Silva.

Defending set pieces under Allardyce was better, but that was at the expense of, you know, playing actual football.

Pickford lack of leadership & commanding his six yard box is another factor, It causes lack of confidence throughout the whole defence...

Lack of leadership from central defenders is also a factor...

Giving too many needless free kicks in dangerous areas is also a factor...


All these things can be fixed...

Contrary to popular belief, we have decent defenders. As Eggs wrote earlier, they’re just set up incorrectly. Mr. Silva, it’s over to you.

Zonal marking works! Full stop. You only need players with an IQ higher then 70! Keane Zouma and co haven't a combined IQ of 70

I actually relished opposition corners with Jags and Lescott. I think we conceded less than 5 that entire year. Never had a single worry during those years.
