Tournaments like Copa would work well, provided not how 2020(1) was supposed to go with split hosts several thousand miles apart. (Colombia SHOULD have got it, but it was allegedly co-awarded to the Argies to prove they could behave themselves after that Boca/River fiasco in the Libertadores not long ago.) Include enough teams from CONCACAF and elsewhere (would love to see more Australia vs Uruguay) to puff it to 16 so you could do brackets that make more sense than this year's goofy set up.

That would be brilliant.



Larger scale stuff like WC qualifiers I don't think could work and too many teams like Peru, Paraguay, Colombia and everyone in CONCACAF not named Mexico would be pretty pissed they'd all be competing for like those last 1.5 spots. (And don't discount the Ticos, Costa Rica has done better than the US over the last handful of years.)

I appreciate what Costa Rica has done in recent years but the US team now is not the one from the run up to 2018 and the talent gap now is pretty vast. Not that we won't lose the qualifier down there anyway but in a tournament against the South American sides I think they'd struggle at least as much as the US.

Lautaro plays absolutely lonely up front and somehow manages to put pressure to the whole rivals defenses for 90 minutes and at the same time gets to be Argentina's top scorer under Scaloni, even above Messi who scores a lot with penalties and free kicks (Lautaro is usually fouled)

Is funny how Messi was average at freekicks for ages and then one year just decided to practise and become amazing for evermore.

The bad news continue for Venezuela. One almost feel bad about battling a team dealing with all these Covid cases and squad uncertainty but Colombia must defeat them today so we can guarantee quarterfinals’ spot.

Tbh I’m not sure. He tested positive for Covid right before Copa began so he may not be able to participate.

We are the ones playing best and had several scoring opportunities but Venezuela changed their lines compared to how they played against Brazil and they sure have been more effective this match. And even had some dangerous plays against Colombia. I still trust we will come on top.
