Cool Heads

What are we waiting for with Moyes exactly?

Why is it necessary that another year is needed?

Has he not had enough years with this football club already?
Did you only start following us last year?

We were in the brown stuff, right up to our necks. He was left with a completely distributional squad and a transitional recruitment team.

He’s made mistakes this year but we never once flirted with where we previously were and he made us all expect better again.

Long term he’s got no future but I’d want to see him given another year with hopefully a decent summer recruitment wise and he can leave the next manager with something to really build on next summer. A bit like the end of his first spell.

Huge huge summer coming up recruitment wise here, last season we had a ridiculous amount to do and still failed (IMO) to hit the bare minimum.

We simply HAVE to sign two new starting full backs, we also can’t continue with the two up top. I think we are still far too short of pace out wide and also crying out for a number 6.

Huge amount to do again, and we can’t get it as wrong as we did last year. I think people’s views on this season have gotten a bit distorted from where we ended up at the turn of the year, yes it’s been a really poor run in but I would argue pound for pound our squad is still a long way away from most of the teams around us.

I’m sure our squad value was sitting around 15/16th at the start of this season. Moyes isn’t blameless here, I don’t see why he’s been so unwilling to rotate and give youngsters more game time but clearly he’s trying to win as many games as possible.

Cool heads needed among the fan base and recruitment team here though I’d argue - yes we want better than this season but let’s see where the squad is come the start of next season. If we haven’t addressed issues that have been there for literal years, then heads need to roll.
I probably think we were overachieving the first half year when Moyes took over.

But it was sure 100m wouldn‘t be enough to get 12 players and upgrade our quality in the same time.

Thought we had good matches against Brentford and City, but then the last 3 games from the 2nd half Palace were simply not acceptable.

He has done what his brief said stability, he is not the guy to drive us further if it's not this summer he's moved on I'm pretty confident it will be before Christmas and we are again firefighting ,if the owners see a manager who's available now or in the summer sure they have to consider there options

If we’d somehow ground out 7/8th would peoples opinions have changed?

The squad would still be largely poor - the manager would just have more credit in the bank.

We do all deserve miles better, but it’s like we’ve had our leg amputated and we’re refusing to learn to walk again and just trying to go straight into running.

I expect as much as the rest of you but there’s also a fundamental reality that the squad isn’t good enough for that. You can lay some of that blame on Moyes but the recruitment has been terrible for as long as I can remember.

Fine but it means having paid the best part of a grand to watch the same bilge I’ve stood through this season.
I agree that is the most likely scenario, but it’s a very dispiriting prospect.
No I hear that, and I missed about half the season because of all the f’ing night games. But I don’t see how we could have gone from relegation battles to expecting Europe with pretty much the same 11.

I looked at that Sunderland manager when they equalised he made subs to actually win the game not happy with a point,we would probably do the exact opposite
