Yes, Diana could only ever have been a Queen consort like the current Queen's mother was when King George VI was on the throne; she could never have been our actual Head of State.

Putting that aside: why would the establishment despise the idea of Mohamed Al-Fayed's son fathering a half-brother of Princes William and Harry?

The Queen and Charles, for all their faults, do not strike me as racist or Islamophobic. Indeed, Charles regularly visits Mosques as part of his interfaith work and the Queen recently had a Muslim prayer room built at Buckingham Palace.

There is a difference between the 'establishment' and 'Liz and Charlie' and their points of view.

However, it was more than likely an accident.

Agreed. But in order to do that you start with what you've got. Gormless forensic work and a botched autopsy finished the chances of a clear investigation before it started.
what a surprise...then there's the ease with which Jack Ruby could tie up the loose end.
Didn't some of the key Warren Commission witnesses meet early ends too.

Very true.

But I don't think the establishment is Islamophobic to the point where they would murder the most famous woman in the world to stop our future King having a Muslim half-brother.

Imagine the headlines of das Mail and der Telegraf on the day of that wedding, never mind the rag. Then move forward a few years and how would the establishment deal with the need to vilify muslims and immigrants to further a corporate agenda. Bigger games were being played out than just a 'princess with loose lips', pardon the pun.

So the Daily Mail killed Diana because they didn't like Muslim immigration into Britain?

She would never have been Queen in the same way Prince Phillip (not a British Prince) isn't King.

The reason she was 'removed with extreme prejudice' was she'd been shagging anything that moved for years (hence Prince Harry) and was then pregnant by the Muslim son of Mohamed al Fayed whom the Government and Royal family utterly despised. She refused to disappear abroad and regularly used her popularity in the flag waving nutter press to embarrass to the Government (Landmines) and Royal Family (accusations of domestic abuse aimed at the heir to the throne).

If the baby had gone ahead the Palace would have had to have a policy on it. There was no way they were going to be able to condone a Muslim half brother to William (and legitimise al Fayed (they only just got away with keeping Harry in house because it meant there technically was a spare despite the marriage being over in any meaningful sense), and they didn't wouldn't want take the massive publicity hit of publicly working against the son of the extremely popular ex wife of the Heir to the Throne.
How do you know the religious belief of an unborn child?
