McAleny will be 21 soon and still nowhere near the team, usually a good indicator that he'll be on his way sooner or later.

Contract expires at the end of this season and I think he'll be moved on.

He has never put a consistent run of games together so it is difficult to gauge his exact level of ability,
A couple of years ago he looked as he could be the one to break through,but it hasn't happened for him ...so far.

He still has time on his side and now has the opportunity to show what he can do.
However,the likelihood is that a move away from Everton is more likely than coming back and getting into the first team.
I hope he does well.

Scored twice the goals of Vellios in half the amount of matches for U21s last season (10 in 11 matches vs. Vellios 5 in 21) and he's the one who's sent out on loan? Slighly baffling unless we are reverting to the "hoof it to Dunc" type tactics again.

Then again, it's just for one month, which could mean that Martinez feels we've got good cover up front for the first third of the season while still giving McAleny a chance to play competetive football.

He hoofed it a decent amount at wigan. Not to the extent most relegation scrapping teams do, but they did do it.
