Conor McAleny

In time McAleny may be able to play the number 10 role but at present I don't think he is ready.
I have always felt that with his pace he could do a job for us as a winger .I would love to see him get some experience out wide and see if he could use his pace o upset defenders.

If the youngsters don't get a chance to play they'll never be ready. They should be getting the odd 10 min run out here and there to learn what prem football is about and then take that back into training and work on their game.

The problem is that we have been rarely safe or even remotely comfortable in games for them to be blooded in. It is alright saying they should be getting game time or they can't do any worse etc. but it is about bringing them on in the right way.

The right way is of course an opinion and my opinion would be that we have not been in the right frame of mind in the last 20 minutes of games to be able to safely and calmly blood the youngsters in.

I'd be tempted to leave him there for the remainder then have him on the bench next season. Would rather he continues with all the game time he's getting and obviously thriving off.

No harm in putting him on the bench, he can play for the U21s and be on the bench, would be no harm in giving him 5/10 minutes here or there either
