2022/23 Conor Coady

I think some will speculate that we’ll be getting defensive reinforcements in. Others will see this as a pathway to the starting lineup for Branthwaite.

But the smart ones know this means Michael Keane will be our starting CB when the new season kicks off.
Great can’t wait for august already

….but if that was the case, why would he pick Coady on Sunday ahead of Keane in the most important match in the club’s history in years? It just doesn’t add up to me.
Because he was forced to go with 3 centre backs due to injuries and that's Coady's best role.

One of few to go, I expect.

We will, hopefully, go into next season with a leaner, but more balanced squad.

Will be interesting to know why we made this decision. Hopefully we have someone lined up and are still planning a clear out of our other poor defenders.

Maybe we just don't have the money. Who knows

Ultimately I think this was the right decision but the question is, can KT build on this to make sure we have a proper replacement and depth on the bench? Time will tell. It’s going to be very concerning if we run through another series of injuries and we are either playing players out of position again or have to go with Keane, Holgate or Godfrey.
