Only if 3-5-2 is a regular thing next season. Just giving a guy who's 30 a 4 year deal to be a backup is part of the reason club is in such a mess and kneejerk reactions aren't going to massively improve the situation going forward.

He did a job today nicely and have to question why Dyche was so quick to ditch him in favour of Keane for two months.

He can play in a 4 with Tarkowski or Branthwaite.

For the fee its a no brainer if we can sell the others.

He's done well in a back 4 for us and why do we need to offer him 4 years?

Yes but Dyche was quick to ditch him in a 4 even though he wasn't even that bad so clearly dosen't rate him that much otherwise he'd have remained in ahead of Keane.

Braithwaite should certainly get a chance and then it's a case of signing a younger CB.

Keane will be here next season aswell you suspect.

Dyche was simply picking Keane when he was giving away goals

His last major contract. Perhaps he'll accept three years but a promoted team like Sheffield United might offer him four. Could see Forest going for Coady aswell given their general defensive issues up to last month.

Wolves might even just have him back as Lopetegui never worked with him.

I still find it bizarre he was dropped in the first place given the first four games of Dyche had clean sheets v Arsenal and Leeds and then Coady got dropped after Villa game.

It can work both ways. Board need to be asking Dyche why he was so quick to drop Coady as if you're signing him full time you'd want to be reasonably confident he'll be starting ahead of Keane next season unless he has terrible form for a sustained period.

We have a purchase option. If we want him and he wants us he's here.

If Dyche likes him, should sign him.

Only positive of the season was Tarko and Coady as a pairing..

Yes a fair few clean sheets. As much as I respect what Dyche has generally done I find it very bemusing he was so quick to break up that combo as it was completely unneccesarily and could've really cost this club.

I think in a few weeks time when he's raving it up to Kasabian I think the manager might concede deep down he called that one slightly wrong.

Tarks and Coady starting 30 times together next season and team should keep enough clean sheets to be o.k.

All down to options and finances.

Proper leader too
