He has looked quality since he joined. He's not the quickest, but, his positional sense is good and he has that ability to sniff out potential danger and deal with it. If this is truly his level of performance, he was a great bit of business. Took the goal well too.
Degsy, Waggy, Weir, Stubbs and Gough weren't pacey but made up for it with positional sense and reading of the game. Always helps if they are paired with a pacey partner though (Ratty, Lescott, Jags, Distin etc). Right now though Coady and Tarks are doing very nicely
 

Distribution is very promising. Almost passes like a midfielder. A combination of controlled passes and long, accurate diagonals.And certainly a talker/organiser And leader.

Naturally, we’ll learn more about his strengths and weaknesses over time. Certainly in a terms of mobility. Physical abilities etc.

But a promising start from the local lad from, Erm, haydock ;)
