Brilliant performance that was and i will be honest i thought he was not the real deal and overrated until this performance. Think there will be plenty more majors to follow for this young irishman

Won it by 8 shots, youngest winner in a century, and seems a pretty decent bloke as well. Expect him to be knee deep in clunge by this time next year.

Smashes the U.S. Open at 22!

Well in lad. Your days are numbered Tiger.

Rory was outstanding and will be a great.

I don't every see him being anything close to Tiger though.

When it's all said and done, Tiger will have been the greatest golfer ever.

I also think that Rory's performance might light a spark under Tiger once he gets healthy.

1.8 Litres of Coke for $1.

That's scarier than Richard Simmons chasing you down a one way alley with a hard on.

Scary to you...

Rory has a way to go - but if his putting can improve its hard to see him not dominating. I think hes the best striker of a ball in the wolrd, but Tiger at his best (which we havnt seen in so long) has the better all round game. I wonder will we ever see the old Tiger again - or is his body still up to it, ive heard talk of knees not being up to it anymore.

Very good question Neiler.

My hope is that he can get healthy first. Once he gets to that point, then he's got some major work to do on his game. Furthermore, players aren't intimidated by him anymore so he doesn't have that edge either. With everything that's happened, he's lost some of his mental edge in my opinion as well.

But...and it's a big but, if you can get him in the winners circle once more, I think he can build on that and threaten Jack's major record. Fortunately he still has some time on his side.

Lets hope so mate, if he could even par with Jack he would go down as one of the greatest sportsmen ever, espcially when you consider how much his game/life has disentegrated over the past number of years - if he can bounce back from this you have to say hes a trually great sports man. I think after this weekend though the world of Golf just became a far more competitive place - it will be interesting to see how Rory handles success and a bigger status - wouldnt be like an Irish man to get caught up in fame, drinking and women.

Amazing feat for the Irish in recent years in majors, Harrington, McDowell, McIlroy - froma country of a population of 4 mill thats good going.

Rory was must see TV.

I couldn't stop watching.

And I love the kid. Great head on his shoulders, seems like he comes from a normal family, humble, etc..etc... Oh, and his golf is a bit good too.

I'm really wishing he hits the big time.
