Paddy Power 'SLASHES' Moyes to United odds !

Bookmakers have slashed odds on Everton manager David Moyes joining Manchester United in the summer.

The Everton manager is out of contract at the end of the season and Paddy Power slashed his odds on becoming next Manchester United from 7/2 to 1/2 favourite after what they called a "flood of overnight bets."

BREAKING NEWS: We have cut David Moyes into 1/2 from 7/2 to be next permanent Man Utd manager after a flood of overnight bets! #MUFC #EFC

Meanwhile, Victor Chandler said that Moyes was more likely to start next season at Manchester United than Everton – possibly as Sir Alex Ferguson's number two before taking over as manager at a later date.

Fergies Hip Replacement seems to be fuelling this story...

Now that explains quite a lot.

Knew he was off.

Moyes has repeatedly said he has no interest in being anyone's number 2.

He's had 11 years as a Premiership manager, he's not leaving Everton to be an assistant anywhere else.

Being a bookie is boss. You put something like this out in a press release and a load of gullible numpties with too much money to waste lump on.

See file marked: 'Moyes now bookies favourite for the Spurs job'. Like shooting fish into a barrel.

At least some thinking has gone into this made up stuff this time.

Ferguson to have hip op, Moyes to be Assistant Manager with extra responsibilities until he is fit, acting as a 'trial' to see if he's up to the job.

I don't believe for a second this will happen. If it did though how would that look for our club? One of the leagues more respected managers who usually has his team finish in the top eight as a minimum, leaves to be Assistant Manager of another club - no matter how successful as they are, in terms of power a career step down.

Yep.

And before that it was Aston Villa when O'Neill walked - despite Moyes saying it was his best ever squad, they had people believe he would join a club who had just started cutting back on their spending and were at the start of a mini crisis.

Doesn't anyone ever contemplate the fact that maybe Ferguson already has a backroom staff in place, capable of holding the fort a few weeks or so when a situation like this arises?

I bet Mike Phelan gets mega peeved when he's see stuff like this, I know I would if I was him.

Anyway, it's all total guff. The real betting line at the moment is Moyes staying. O'Keeffe of the Echo seems to believe it more likely than not at this point, and he's the guy that sees Moyes multiple times per week and must surely have feelers out there.

See also Moyes to Villa, they suspended betting for that

And also Moyes to Newcastle back in 2008.

I was told on good authority at the time that there was nothing in it and that Moyes was just angling for a better deal for himself.

He has already turned down the chance to become SAF's no2 years ago.

Bookies know he's staying, so, the bookies think 'lets make some last minute money before he signs his new deal with Everton"..... plenty of mugs out there to be fleeced.

I don't see Moyes with another Premier League team right now. If he leaves Everton, I see him going to another European club before coming back to England.

Being the No.2 at Man Utd puts you in line for oh say the Middlesboro job, not the No.1 job at Man Utd. That makes no sense at all. Plus I really don't see Fergie retiring for another 3-4 years.

His only options in the prem are latching on with Chelsea for well about 9 months if he's lucky or Man City a team who I don't think he cares for very much (and with a fan base that probably doesnt like him either).

He's staying here or going to Germany where realistically you can win the league/play in the C-League with an everton sized budget.

Don't believe this rumour. Moyes will only leave us for a bigger job as MANAGER of a club who got ambition and money to match the ambition. Im just hoping our board does not let us down by letting us lose a quality Manager. My issue I have with this we haven't shown our thanks to the man and try and convince him that the fans do want him to stay, look at all the banners the rs had for ratboy, what have we done for Moyes? and don't put silly comments like his wages.
