I expected good things from this season with the new fella at the helm and Roberto has duly delivered, thus far. Really happy with things atm. The squad looks great and we've sorted out all our really weak areas now, it'd seem.

There's absolutely no question now where we should be aiming for this year. Let's get the sh*te behind us asap and kick on. They might have Suarez coming back, but we've got Lukaku. Top 6 is where we should be gunning for as we have, for this season at least, a top class striker on the books that is completely perfect for our style. If we'd had him last season, we'd have taken at least one of Arsenal and Spurs and probably both.

If he can get us to tighten up at the back and eradicate just a few of the errors, we're a f*cking Hell team. Feels great to say!

A player who's publicly stated he doesn't want to be there.

NAAA

Are you saying you think he'll be poor by his usual standards?

I think that's wishful thinking tbh.
Yep, look at Rooney form after the summer he had. He will want to prove that he world class and try and get a move to a champion league club, the best way to do this is perform on the pitch.

Instead of bringing on a defender to see out games, it's so exciting to see us use our pace to damage teams in the closing minutes.

Players like Oviedo who would stay on the bench last season, came on today and gave us another outlet when counter-attacking.

I know, its mad not seeing Johnny coming on and Neville staying on the pitch

I was thinking just that....where's Neville? Why aren't we banging long balls out of defence?
Actually, this is great isn't it....the team is playing actual football and the only geezer who needs to do any bloody pointing is Martinez. That's how it should be. Long may this last.

Martinez is saying all the right things and getting things right at the moment. The thing is, we will go through a bad patch, I do believe we'll have a period this season were teams initially sort of work us out and we look a bit tired and we may go on a run of games like 1 win in 10. I think when that happens, we all keep a sense of perspective and realise Martinez has shown he knows what he's doing and this season, and even next to a point, are a transitional period and we/he needs time.

But for the moment, I'm loving the positivity.

Why is this destined to happen? Because he's not Moyes and got relegated with Wigan? If we get sussed out he'll change it (both formations and players).

we currently sit in 5th, unbeaten, and if we'd had any luck in front of goal could easily have been top with 15 points. We are doing alright and Martinez hasn't put a foot wrong yet. Feeling confident for the rest of the season...........
