I thought Fallout 4 was an amazing game, much, much better than the ones before it.

Not sure what it could have been as it was jam packed full of apocolyptic goodness at every turn.
Reported for obvious trolling.

Fallout had always been a game with about 20,000 paths to do most things, instead it became a boring as hell open world FPS. The whole talking protagonist was terrible, everything became go here and shoot x. I’ve played every Fallout and it’s the first one I’ve not completed at all.

Spent as much time shooting as I did making my own little corner of paradise...best fallout ever imo. (After modding) and making it work correctly...pc version was twonky at first.

Dunno what game you were playing but if that amount of entertainment is boring to you I’d think about doing something else with your life.

The game was epic in every single aspect and one of the most detailed, emotional gaming experiences ever created.

And you had a dog called dogmeat.

I did go and do something else evidently. Personally, as a huge fan of the series, it wasn’t enjoyable at all. It didn’t feel epic, felt very, very linear up to the point I played it and in that case didn’t feel like a Fallout game at all.

I too am a big fan of the Fallout series, have been playing them since the original was released.

But, I still thought Fallout 4 was fantastic. They aren't the same games. If you want the something comparable to the original Fallout experience then you should be looking at Wasteland instead.

But to say someone is trolling because they liked a game you didn't.........

And how is it linear? The main story follows the main story. But....... You. Don't. Have. To. Do. It.

Fallout 4 is a great game - Story is a little weak (Especially compared to 3 and New Vegas) but the sheer amount of stuff to find, locations to explore and lore to explore means i've put over 200 hours into it

Trolling comment was tongue in cheek obviously. I just thought it was very linear as it was ‘go here, kill this guy, repeat.’ There never seemed to be any alternative paths. Again, didn’t meet my expectations of what a Fallout game is (or was it seems) so really couldn’t get into it. The whole find the Power Armour dead early and have an epic battle with a Deathclaw just felt so out of place in a Fallout game.

Is there a perfect game that makes all the right creative choices?

Red dead redemption. Never played a more complete game or been so invested in a storyline. Everything was on point. That ending was incredible as well.

Can't wait for rdr2.

I reckon you’ll be dissapointed! Isn’t red dead the same thing? Mission - go there - kill some baddies - do the thing you need to do - return.
