Computer games.

Just read a bit more about it. Not all heroes are locked and don't all cost the same. 6 of the characters need to be unlocked.

Still with the original system it would have taken roughly 170 hours to unlock all 6 which is crazy.

I scoff at 170 hours, thats considered easy mode.

Come back when you play a Korean MMO.

What I read says that they have limited how many credits you earn from the campaign but didn’t say anything about lowering credits earned from multiplayer. Either way a pretty big balls up from EA. Doubt they’ll take much of a hit from it though.

The most annoying thing I read about the game is that the single player is only 4-5 hours long. Think I’m gonna buy it and then trade it once I’ve done the campaign
No!

If you want to actually do something DO NOT BUY THE GAME!

It doesn't matter that you trade it in, you are putting the money into their pockets, reinforcing this behavior.

The only way they will get the message is if people stop buying into it.

It needs to be more than the faux rage then cave attitude taken by so many.

having the star wars license is gonna mean they only have to produce a half decent game for people to buy it...

This.

Or any good MMORPG/MOBA, i.e. WoW, League of Legends, early-to-mid2010 Hero Online.
Or even CS, which I've played since its inception more or less, so no way to actually gauge that.

In all the games mentioned I comfortably have more than 2k hrs. Bought Overwatch last November, didn't have my PC from December to a month and a half ago, still have about 300-400 hours on that. To go with 1k+ on every Football Manager since 2009.

170hrs, amateur mode for plebs.

Wondering if there will ever be legislation on DLC, need an MP to pick up on it....
Be pretty good, not just for EA but everyone.

IMO the only good way to do the DLC is how Smite (Hi-Rez studios) do it.
You get a free game (used to be 5$ in early days but they made it free), and if you want you can get the "everything" package by paying 20$. In this "everything" - new content is included, as well as old, as well as anything that ever comes out next. Basically a "premium" package, meaning you don't pay $5 for the next god (it's a MOBA with gods, pretty fun), you just pay 20$ and get all of them at once, old ones and new ones and upcoming ones. I mean I hate paying for stuff but this seems most reasonable, as you pay once to get it all, instead of paying 100 times for 100 gods. Feels like they're milking your wallet quite a lot less really.

Overwatch also has a decent point with involving only cosmetics in loot boxes that you get by playing anyway. They fixed them quite a lot since the early days too (you used to get a duplicate or 4, out of 4 items, in every loot box), and have special events that give you cool new ones. This way the only changes in the game don't actually impact the game itself.

That's why they are doing it. They are effectively using a well known licence to sell gambling to kids.

Actually evil.

Is buying football stickers gambling, what about buying a kinder egg ?

There are loads of things in life you can buy where you don’t know exactly what you will get.

Nothing more tiresome than gamers cryassing about EA 24/7. Just don't buy their products and stop whining about it... they don't owe you anything, its their product, they can do whatever they want with it.

Thats not aimed specifically at you btw, just gamers in general (one of the worst and most whiney demographics on the planet tbh)

It's very different. You need to "gamble" with buying packs in FIFA in order to progress/get an advantage in games.

You need to gamble with football stickers in order to advance your football album/book.

I clearly remember needing a few players back when I was a nipper and spunking all my pocket money on stickers in the hope of completing it.
