Computer games.

Its a game system, it never even occurred to me that it could or should have options for communication and other media. As a gaming system it's great I think. I was a very casual gamer and only ever spending a lot of time when a game hooked me in like ICO or Last of Us, but having top quality games like Zelda and MK8 on the go or just away from the TV is just brilliant for me.

Zelda is just incredible. Can't go near Mario Odyssey until I'm done with that, or Ill never finish it!

I have no gribes about the games. Just the Storage capacity to play them.

Shovel Knight, Mario+Rabbids, Stardew Valley, Sonic Mania, Mario Kart 8 - all top games.

Can't comment on the communication side as I simply don't care about multiplayer so I haven't even bothered with it. It's best to think of it as a superb portable, single player experience gaming machine.

Yeah the pros are there and they are major. That's the selling point. Triple A on the go. But it's a powerful tablet . It has the potential to more. I have a sneaking suspicion it hasn't because of the low memory. I've Faith there will be good apps made for it to enhance things. But we will probably have to fork out the amount of money the switch costs for the memory.

Think shovel knight is on offer now, so might pick it up. Whats it like? And are there parts of Sonic that play just like the original?

The missus is addicted to Stardew Valley. Havent tried it myself yet

Speaking of pricing. I would like to have another full controller to use for two player MK but you need to buy a pack with the two 'small' controllers and then a separate base to connect them as one full controller. It all costs over 100eu!

@Tubey any ideas on cheaper ways for this? Seems theres limited 3rd party options for controllers.

Mega Man-esque platformer with Duck Tales inspiration. It's like a modern day NES/SNES classic.

If you love 2D platform games, you'll love that. It's amazing.

Sonic Mania is basically Sonic 2/3 with all the best elements kept and improved upon. Sounds mad to say but it may be the best, most complete Sonic game ever made.

Stardew Valley and the word "addictive" basically go hand in hand. Won't be for everyone, but it out Harvest Moon's Harvest Moon.

I've got the Pro Controller which is about £60 - excellent controller.

It's Nintendo, and that by default means wildly expensive and in their own form factor.

In fairness I did get Zelda and MK8 on the cartridge or whatever you call them....so that would explain why I haven't noticed a storage issue on it.

In this day and age I expect a bit more from a console. That do inhance hour gaming experience. I think it has the potential but it would take up all its memory. I think they are waiting for everyone to have one before telling them BTW you need spend a good few Bob on an SD card. I'm sure there will be more software next year. Just gotta be happy with kick-ass games (first world modern gamer problems) I guess.

Buy physical copies mate, honestly. There's little to no price difference between that and downloaded content because it's Nintendo and they suck for prices. Just grab a case for it, stick all the cartridges in on the go and voila - no waiting to download, play immediately, no need for storage or if you do buy it, just buy less capacity. There's not hundreds of games you'd want on it anyway.

The cartridges are also absolutely disgusting to lick, so there's that.

Yes I'll be getting Mario on cartridge thanks for heads up.

Played a lot of Zelda recently - most impressive game I've seen [although I only got back into gaming recently with my kids]. Need to find about 8 more shrines and am a bit stuck, as I've wandered the earth in search of them - suspect I'll crack and just look them up.
[One of them is eventide island which I haven't properly tried doing yet].

It basically is the originals. It's a continuation of Sonic & Knuckles and plays just like it with some neat bells and whistles thrown in. Highly recommend.

Thanks for making me spend lots of money Tubey!
