It's the same people who spent thousands on a 4k tv even though there was nothing to watch in 4k.

As you say, more money than sense, but every time a new slightly better version of something comes out it means the older slightly worse version comes down in price. I've got a ps4 but I'm quite tempted by a £100 XB1. I was hoping Wii U prices would drop further when the Switch came out but they stayed about £130.

Yeah I mean it's not a new phenomenon, but usually there's a selling point - even the ridiculous 'new' 3DSXL put on extra buttons and features, improved the 3D effect etc. to give it an upgrade sell to the public. But this One X... it seems to me to just be an upgrade on paper rather than a practical one.

I bought the Switch on launch for my daughter to get her to stop playing Minecraft on my PS4. After a few months of her turning the switch into a Minecraft machine it's collecting dust. She has no interest in Zelda or Mario. I love them games but didn't want to start steeling my daughters switch. Now that it's collected dust for two months. I've dusted it off, created an account and I'm now going to get Mario the Weekend.

With this I've discovered the system as it is right now is [Poor language removed]. Terribly. Can't communicate with people. Can't fit actual games on it!!!! WTF? You need to spend 500 if you want the memory of a basic PS4. No apps for it. ... more as I find out. Fuming here.

Yep, it doesn't even have Netflix on it yet.

Trust me though, Mario Odyssey is one of the best games of all time.

Its a game system, it never even occurred to me that it could or should have options for communication and other media. As a gaming system it's great I think. I was a very casual gamer and only ever spending a lot of time when a game hooked me in like ICO or Last of Us, but having top quality games like Zelda and MK8 on the go or just away from the TV is just brilliant for me.

Zelda is just incredible. Can't go near Mario Odyssey until I'm done with that, or Ill never finish it!

Shovel Knight, Mario+Rabbids, Stardew Valley, Sonic Mania, Mario Kart 8 - all top games.

Can't comment on the communication side as I simply don't care about multiplayer so I haven't even bothered with it. It's best to think of it as a superb portable, single player experience gaming machine.
