Spending a few extra on the GPU is much more flexible than more ram or a beefier CPU.

I've got 24 GB RAM. I struggled with 8 GB RAM and then upgraded. Even if I have 24 GB RAM the game doesn't use it all. Just 11. And Conan exiles should be everyone's targeted game.

It is the cost though mate which is the difference here. Somewhere like curries i can buy in installments if that makes sense, whereas building one i have to either find a spare 500 quid or more importantly buy each month which isn't as bad but going to be out of date by the time i have finished.

So if it was a case of do not buy the pre built one because you can't game on it like a console (the specs above) then i would have to just buy each month and perhaps just buy in reverse order so the shorter shelf life items like graphics and that are bought last.

I just really want to be know whether those specs above right now are going to be fine for general gaming or would it massively limit me? If i could upgrade the thing further down the line then i would go for that but if it was limited to that and nothing else then obviously i would not bother.

You can get buy now pay next year or finance from overclockers, and tbh your rig will already be out of date, due to the specs you are looking at. I appreciate the fact you are on a budget though and you can get some cracking pre built ones for around £400. just a thought anyway, you'll find something suitable i'm sure.

For what you are wanting it for, those specs are fine, follow Dylans advice about the gpu though not the cpu.

Also, hardware doesnt go out of date as quickly as it used to, rigs can last for years now and play to a good standard.

I am sure @MorgsGoat can point you at the best reputable PC builder (not sure on the finance stuff though), but for an example, on overclockers.co.uk there are several systems in and around the 500-650 GBP range that will suffice for some low-mid end gaming.

The entire soundtrack is killer. Had it on repeat for ages.

The soundtrack for 4 was brilliant too but as they're totally different styles to fit different themes you don't feel the need to compare too much. I do really enjoy the jazziness of 5 though.

That is what scares me a little. 700 pounds for a PC is well out of my budget even buying every month towards it. I was hoping to go around 400, realistically 500 and come the summer if i come into a bit of additional cash i could pile it into it and knock a few things off the list so to speak.

Considering the new xbox is going to be around 300, i don't want to trade off the cost for essentially i won't get the benefit of if that makes sense? I won't use the pc anything different than a console, and only want the long term game savings and benefits of the mod community for games. I don't want a COMPUTER, i want a console. Except i want the additional benefits of it being a pc rather than a xbox.

just go with your original idea then, make sure you check your casing can house any extras you want in the future and make sure any future buys are compatible with your motherboard. The good thing about PC gaming you can replace spare parts rather than the whole thing, top end GPU's cost more than an XBox anyway but you can get some good budget PCs if you hunt around.
