I love how broken the magic system was, you could literally turn yourself into a flying, death dealing god

What about the jumping mechanics? I used to keep jumping as I was running to max out my Acrobatics early on

If it carries on as good as the first 3-4 hours it’ll go down as one of my favourite games of all time alongside the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, MGS3 and Elden Ring

Music’s beautiful! Also the sound design in general is crazy - I love the audio cues for Parry/dodge timing (though I spent a good hour getting pasted by that big spear bellend in the first area who one shots you before getting the parrying down)

I don’t normally like this type of game but played the first couple of hours and really enjoying it so far. Met the first sort of boss and he’s pasted me a couple of times and then I had to stop playing but definitely feels like a good level of challenge and I know I’ll be able to beat it in a couple more tries.

From what I’ve played, it’s actually worth getting battered a bit to learn how the dodging / parrying works. Parrying gives you action points for each successful one which is a massive bonus

I don’t know if this will be the case in the whole game but I like that (in this case) when you die it puts you back just before the start of the fight. So you don’t have to replay anything, you just get straight back in.

So far for me it’s pretty generous - I haven’t had any big runs back to fights so far thankfully

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has just been revealed by Bethesda and is out on Game Pass now!

Whole point of the game is the Dark Brotherhood quest line. Main quest is meh, other side quests are OK, fun Skinner box way to spend free time.

But man, the Dark Brotherhood story is nuts. The game was also the game we all built rigs for back in '06. I learned how to build a PC just to play it right. Absolute quantum leap in graphics technology. Like, blades of grass? What? Who cares about faces? A PC can display actual, convincing blades of grass?

But man, the Dark Brotherhood story is nuts. The game was also the game we all built rigs for back in '06. I learned how to build a PC just to play it right. Absolute quantum leap in graphics technology. Like, blades of grass? What? Who cares about faces? A PC can display actual, convincing blades of grass?

Finally beat the final deck on Balatro this week (on White Stake) and got my highest single hand score of 6.291e11 which I was pretty happy with. Such a good game and perfect for playing on a phone.

Now need to start clearing the tougher stakes. Done a few already but a long, long way to getting them all.

From my experience with the Switch, some games just do not translate well to a small screen - Dark Souls in particular was horrific on it

I worked in a games store years ago and yeah , I love video games myself but there are some folk who are a bit , obnoxious to put it mildly.

The worst ones for me are the fakes who are clearly working with the PR firms of the publishers, get the free swag and are so arrogant they talk down to the regular consumer for any criticism. Need a slap some of them.
