Good interactive movies/novels, so not surprised they're well received. They're just not games in my eyes.
I don't even mean it in a bad way; it's that different mediums should have different labels, and I see the games you mentioned as different to actual games in the same way a book is different to a movie. I just think games use interactive experiences first, narrative experiences second - these interactive movies are the other way round.

Already exists. Interactive movie or visual novel. No different to things in the 90s like Plumbers Don't Wear Ties or Night Trap. The only reason they are classified as 'games' is because the two genres mentioned have negative connotations attached.
Look at Indigo Prophecy for example - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit_(2005_video_game) - exactly the same thing, but at least Quantic Dream were honest enough to label it as an interactive movie.

Divinity is more like the original Dragon Age, Torchlight, Diablo etc. Isometric rather than first person and not as action oriented as Skyrim.
Depends what you liked about the games you mention. A left field recommendation but a personal fave, is Dragon's Dogma. Square Enix doing a Western RPG. So has some Japanese charm, more of a Skyrim setting and better combat than any other RPG I've played. Scratch that, Kingdoms of Amalur had the best combat but still, it's damn good. Was for last gen consoles but recently came out on Steam, which is handy.
Yeah, these days there isn't really an excuse to not know what you are buying into.

Metro 2033 and metro Last light are £6 for the pair on Xbox one this week. A game I've looked at but not sure, even at that price, I'd play it enough to get my money's worth. Downloaded the trial and never played more than 5 mins of each. Looks a bit too stealthy for me but good price though

May be worth checking out the improved 'Survival Mode' when they release it. It's inspired by the New Vegas survival mode, only more masochistic...
No fast travel (you have to walk every where)
You can only save by sleeping somewhere.
You have to eat, drink and sleep to avoid fatigue (which lowers your AP over time)
Disease & illness mechanic. Eating uncooked food, unpurified water, fighting certain creatures and using chems can make you ill.
On the flip side, you have an adrenaline meter, which can increase your damage output.
Sounds like lunacy to me lol

not my idea of fun, but sounds like a fantastic addition to the game! I think it works as well due to the many more areas in the game to find and stop at, things like the national ration stockpile (one place i didnt find last time) which is full of food, be like finding gold that haha

Does ammo have a weight value like in new Vegas? It's a tad unrealistic being able to carry 15 mini nukes and 5000 rounds of 9mm
