Computer games.

I honestly just wish Red Alert 2, Age of Empires 2 and Rollercoaster Tychoon became available for Mac.

You got one too? I got one thinking I'll only use it for work, I never intended gamin on it but my LCD TV broke as did my Xbox controller so I thought I'd make some use of the retina screen. I used to love the old Command and Conquer games, I wouldn't mind playing one of those myself now actually.

Roller-coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum edition is on the App Store for £13.99!

Oh and @Baines' left foot, GET THE STANLEY PARABLE.

It isn't an FPS, but more akin to something like Dear Esther. It's first person, but it's just a narrative adventure. It's probably the funniest game I've ever played, and it's got about 15 endings or so which are all brilliant, some of which show masterful game design (i.e. at one point you think you've broken out of the map). It's a bit Hitchhiker's guide at times; hard to explain, just buy it.

Even the demo is boss. Try that first -- it has no content at all from the main game, yet manages to show you what it's all about.

Can it be played without a controller? I.e keyboard and mousepad? I was hoping to use my wireless Xbox pad but can't really justify the price of a game and a new controller at the moment, unfortunately. I might as well at least give the demo a try though, cheers!

I played mine on my laptop with the keyboard/mousepad. It's never as nice as using a mouse or controller, but as there's not really any action involved -- it goes at your pace -- it's perfectly playable :)

Well, i've got a MacBook (Pro, obvs). I bought it a few years ago and massively underestimated how rubbish they are for games and slightly regret it now. The old C&C games are incredible, used to love setting up Skirmish's and building the biggest base going.

Rollercoaster 3 just isnt the same are the first 2!!! Just like C&C Generals isn't the same as the previous ones. Stupid upgrade in graphics.

Yeah same, I've got the Pro. I didn't realise they'd be this rubbish either, ha. I'm not a big gamer these days though, so I can get by on the scraps of what is available.

Above all else I just really want to play Day-Z, which would be both a massive ball ache to set up and cost over £100 as I'd need a copy of Windows with no guarantee that it'd run well. Jib that.

Anyone played Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 or Sim City 4? Wouldn't mind a point and click type game such as one of these to pick up and play every now and again. I've played Sim City 4 before but didn't have a clue what I was doing, is it ridiculously hard? I don't seem to play games as much as I did and my Xbox is out of order at the moment so been looking at what I can get on my MacBook (not very much by the looks of it), and they're both on the app store/Steam. There's a game called The Stanley Parable which is supposed to be good. Really don't want an FPS though.
Anno 2070 and Civilization V are good strategy games similar to Sim City. They can be complex but once you get into them they're fun - I've got both but only really played Civ, though I've watched Anno and can't wait to get into it after exams and stuff.

Excited for Civilization: Beyond Earth.

For those that haven't heard yet, it's like a spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri. Hard sci-fi stuff and the like.

But, it's much more open ended than past games. There won't be just one tech tree for you to follow and you won't be able to research every tech in the game. It's a technology "web" instead. Will lead to more diversity among civs in a single game.

One of my favourite games that civillisation 2. Always end up cheating and nuking villages though.........

Another PC highlight for me personally is Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Brilliant game, wish it would be made for android somehow...
