You do realize I’m sure you are talking to a person who played it and really enjoyed it. You’re pissing against the wind trying to tell me it’s terrible.

No current console can really consistantly pump out smooth frame rates at 4K when it comes graphically advanced games... not even the souped up pro versions of the Playstation & Xbox (although they do offer improved performance at 4K). As you mention frame rate is massively important in racing games especially when you become competitive and are using hardware such as a wheel and pedals... generally speaking the lower the frame rate the more input lag you'll experience when turning the wheel (or moving the thumbstick). The majority of people won't notice it but it's always there and ultimately it will be negatively effecting your speed if you're half decent and able to put in consistent laps.

On top of this Televisions traditionally produce more input lag than monitors, running at low frame rates on a television is basically the worst conditions for racing games.

The ideal setup for GT Sport would be to have your Playstation plugged into a monitor (1440p or 1080p), you would get better frame rates, smoother game play and less input lag. Obviously though a big perk to console gaming is being able to sit on your sofa and play through a TV... so maybe a standard 1080p TV would be better in your situation. The image quality would be worse due to the lower resolution but the gameplay would be a lot smoother which is by far the most important thing for racing games.

I play a lot of GT online and can’t complain about the input lag and I’ve won a fair few races just using the DS4. I’m around 1.00 - 2.5 seconds off the best lap times. The TV I have now is a 2018 Panasonic which I think was about £700 new that I got a couple of months ago on a clearance deal so it’s a mid level TV and won’t be changing it any time soon.

My previous TV was a Sony 4K and had awful input lag to the point where the sound was out of sync with the picture and made RDR2 unplayable so I know what you’re on about but the game mode is good on my new TV.

Come to think of it I’ve also maxed my 500GB hard drive and have to delete things whenever there’s a big update which is frustrating. I might take the plunge as just noticed the Pro is 1TB.
 
Finished Jedi: Fallen Order the other day. Really enjoyed it, not least because it made a nice change to go back to a story-driven single player game with no online, multiplayer etc. Dark Souls meets Tomb Raider seems to be the lazy way to describe it, so I'll stick with that. A few good boss battles in there and a decent story (taking place after Ep 3), and all said it was good fun. Will be nice if they bring out some DLC/expansions at some point, though I'm not holding my breath.
 
Almost done with GTA San Andreas on the PS4. 3rd time going thru it on the ps2 and ps3.

By far the best GTA if you take in to account map design, map usage, music, amount of missions , amount of non-mission content, and story.

Going for the platinum as it doesn't require anything ridiculous like the Vice City one that would take months to do normally and takes hours of just elastic banding the trigger and letting a helicopter shoot a vehicle.

Need to get done so I can retrain my brain to play newer game without thinking about control setup.
