Anybody been following up on Cyberpunk 2077? Reading about it, it seemed amazing but the gameplay vid, although impressive, didn't leave completely awestruck.

I guess they dont really show the size and scope of the city yet which might be the biggest deal about it.

There's a guy I watch sometimes on YouTube called YongYea who was knocked giddy by it when he got a sneak peek. Plus it's CD Projekt Red doing it - I'd be surprised if they didn't knock it out of the park.

Never even seen a video of Witcher so no real idea of their pedigree apart from the many rave reviews and references to how good it is. Another game ill probably pick up in the new year.

I guess what I was expecting to see was something jumping a couple of levels above whats out there. Have you seen the vid? It is pretty cool like but I wasnt blown away by it.

Anyone else been following this story about Blizzard being in hot water with fans over that Diablo Immortal they recently announced?

The flak EA got over Star Wars Battlefront in the Spring was justified and ended up being a big win for the consumer (which was a direct backlash to predatory microtransaction practices) but I gotta say that there's more than a whiff of 'fan' entitlement around this latest Blizzard stuff. There'll be a nerd uprising soon enough lol

Nah it's not entitlement as such - it's more of a tipping point and the end result of how Blizzard communicated it.

After Dungeon Keeper Mobile, Final Fantasy: All The Bravest, Command & Conquer Rivals etc. utterly milking classic licences for a scummy mobile transaction laden cash in, whether Blizzard like it or not, mobile gaming is now a toxic wasteland of crap rather than a serious gaming platform.

It's how it was announced too - as the 'big' announcement at BlizzCon; an audience that consists basically exclusively of PC and console fans only. An event, by the way, people paid to be at and view online because of their love of the franchise. If publishers are happy to profit off the connection fans have to certain IPs, then they should expect a backlash when they kick them in the teeth for having that loyalty.

If Blizzard had announced a brand new IP or an obvious spin-off for mobile (like Hearthstone was to WoW, for example), nobody would bat an eyelid at it. But it's the exploitation of a beloved IP that's the kicker.

It's like selling people a ticket to see what's in the mystery box, and inside the box was a steaming turd. Sure, you might have been expecting to be somewhat disappointed by what was inside the mystery box as it was a gamble going in, but you didn't expect a steaming turd.

All that said, while I understand the backlash, I don't understand the surprise at Activision Blizzard doing it. These people seem to think these billionaire companies are their mates. Indeed, I find the entire concept of a 'BlizzCon' laughable.

From what I know the game itself is playable beginning to end but they still plan another 2-3 years before release.

That is how detailed the game will be. Next gen for sure.

Using Witcher 3 as the barometer, it was 9-10 months from the first extended gameplay video to release day.

Whats the best game so far for you?

Only got a few games so far.

Astrobot is amazing. Not really a fan of platforms but this is just a special vr game and proves that vr is magic.

Vr worlds is great

Until dawn vr is great. A shooter on rails. Better with the move controllers tho.

RESIDENT evil 7. Played this for 30 mins and had to turn it off due to being scared.
Never been scared playing a game before but horror in VR is only for the brave gamers.

Wipeout. Will never play this on flatscreen again.

On my list is
Firewall with the new aim controller
Superhot
Skyrim
Tetris VR
Terthered.

What do people think about football manager, it's a game I've always enjoyed and i've always had a copy while I've owned a PC because i like to play games even though most would think i'm a bit old for games(bugger off). Anyway I've noticed my usage gradually decline from 1000's of hours back in the 00's to barely a couple of hundred hours. I have found the more content they try to fit in the less enjoyable the game is becoming.

So I'm a bit torn on whether to buy this years, which i say every year and do anyway. Whats the thoughts on that in here?
