Computer games.

With respect, I don't really see what you're trying to prove, mate. If you don't see a problem with paying for a game and then paying again to help unlock stuff within the game then good for you. I find it weird that you're surprised people have a problem with it.

I’m not trying to prove anything, I posted a review which is actually balanced in order to counter the previous two reviews which were clearly the complete opposite of balanced.

I’m not surprised at all btw, Ive known for years what a bunch of whiny overly dramatc chits online gamers can be. Give it another month or two and they’ll find something new to get outraged about.

That's a channel that is solely about first person AAA shooters. Quite literally solely. Playing the most popular of them is their business model. It is the opposite of balanced mate - it is in his interest to have a popular game... well, popular, because it increases his audience for people who search Battlefront II on YouTube.

Whilst the two other reviews you've disparaged are strangely enough two of the most well respected out there. Not to everyones tastes, but they are by and large on the level with their views.

or it could be that he actually likes AAA shooters lol, you know they sell well for a reason... it could be that people actually enjoy them ? Just maybe ?

Battlegrounds, squad and fortnite are not AAA games either... neither are plenty of other games he’s featured.

He’s very balanced in his reviews, always has been. Openly criticises DICE regularly despite having tons of their content on his channel, same goes for PUBG etc.

Those two reviewers you say are respected... the first one literally got big off just slagging games off, that is the sole reason he became popular in the first place. He over exgerates constantly for comedic effect. Second bloke never heard of.

He may well do, but that account is a business. Don't take my word for it - he says so in his pinned comment.

I didn't feel that review was balanced in the slightest - to me it came across as a plea to explain why the account will still be playing it, whilst acknowledging the problems but largely dismissing them. Basically setting up his future business direction for the next few months.

Whilst subjective in terms of its' quality, it's common sense an account like that has to play the most recent, relevant shooter to stay relevant themselves - for example, you don't see many recent Rainbow Six videos do you?

I know it’s a business... the other guys are making good money as well though.

First guy has to keep doing his ridiculous over the top ragey reviews because that's what got him an audience in the first place... everyone has motives.

Also he was doing Rainbow Six videos regularly until quite recentley, that games been out 2 years.

Anyway i don't think we're going to agree on anything related to this game. I don't even rate it that much myself and will probably be bored within a couple of weeks... im just tired of the gaming scene being cryasss central and getting overly outraged at every opportunity... especially when it comes to EA. You know a huge percentage of the people crying will end up buying it as well.

Bold bits my point mate. Old game = no audience = no views = no money. New game = audience = views = money. So he has every reason to be biased towards promoting his money tree for the next few months.

If you enjoy the game, great, but I don't think the outrage over it is unjustified. You are completely right that everyone will forget about it in a few weeks, and that's a valid criticism - but being outraged isn't one. Indeed, ideally everyone should stay outraged and make it impossible for these practices to get ignored.

You missed my point, he was still featuring the game 18 months after release. Also there are other big channels which still pull in 500k views per video for Rainbow Six Siege...

But yes im sure the content is influenced by what will bring in views, just as those other two channels knew that a ragey review of battlefront 2 would pull in viewers. They could have waited a week to play the game some more but nope... they wanted them hits whilst the drama was fresh.

There's nothing wrong at all with their loot boxes, and it's definitely not gambling as nothing can be gained from it? It's also super easy to get loot boxes just playing the game win or lose

Well yes they are purely cosmetic. It's about the mechanic though, like @Tubey explained. In Battlefront etc it's off course much more advantageous to buy a packet.

[I am still torn about the whole thing, never bought a loot box and I am still reasonable competitive in all sorts of multiplayer games - I don't care about ending in the top 3 or something similar though]

Honestly, I like the mechanic of loot boxes as it adds reward and suspense - and even a want to play said game more. Like on Overwatch for example they do the seasonal events with related skins, some of them I wouldn't want to miss out on the chance of obtaining so I'd jump back on to play more overwatch.

In terms of how battlefront have set up though, and say Paragon, absolutely not. That is out of order and takes away the 'competitiveness' of the game completely as it is no longer based purely on skill.

I don’t get the skill arguement. Unlocking perks etc doesn’t take skill, it takes man hours. Why would me getting killed by someone who had paid for perks be any different to me being killed by someone who grinded for the perks ? It’s the perks themselves which take away skill, not the method with which you unlock them.
