Computer games.

Lol wut.

I think you’re in a minority of one with that view.

Not really. Modern F1 games still get compared to that gold standard.

The newer games are far too dry and often try to be pure simulations instead of remembering to be an enjoyable game too. F1 97 wasn't an arcade racer, nor was it a simulation - it was the perfect blend right in the middle.

Graphics don't make a game. F1 97 allowed you to fill in the gaps with your imagination and provided the perfect experience in terms of gameplay and atmosphere to do so.

That reviewer is on crack :p

F1 97 was never considered the gold standard. The gold standard for older F1 games was GP4. That was the peak of the genre before Geoff Crammond quit and the F1 license ended up going to a succession of lame developers before finally finding it's feet again with the F1 2016/2017 games.

The current F1 games are exactly what you describe btw, a mix of sim and arcade. They are a long way away from pure simulation. You're not going to get pure simulation on mainstream games designed for demographics of millions, most of whom use joypads. F1 97 by todays standards is pure arcade, like mobile game level....

Don't get me wrong, for its time it was good and I'm sure the nostalgia runs deep but gaming has come a hell of a long way since then... and not just in terms of graphics.

Has it? Popped up on FB as being in development and coming soon. That said things like shotguns, explosions and rooftop racing have no link to the original for me.

If it's the same game you might be right, I think it's been available in early access for ages but releases next month. And I agree, the original games have a special place in most gamer's hearts.

Ah, my weekend has arrived.

Any good?

Formula 1 '97 is still the best F1 game to this day. That's not even nostalgia speaking; I play it now because it feels and plays like visceral racing and has the classic drivers, whereas the newer F1 games have no appeal to me whatsoever.

Graphics do not make a game.

Agreed and I really enjoyed last years.

#grass density.

Btw tried Elite dangerous on PS4 and it’s hideous. The controls are way too clunky.
That is a shame... Couldn't imagine trying to play it on a game pad......

Thrustmaster make a HOTAS that will work on PC and the PS4..... Not sure if it is worth it unless you are going to invest a lot of time in E:D though (I got mine specifically for Elite and it has been well worth it imo)

I preferred Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix and still hold that as a bit of a masterpiece, even today.

I signed Michy Bathshuayi in my Everton Fifa 18 career mode for 30 million and i signed Daley Blind for 12 million. This years Fifa is very loose and open.Im finding professional mode to be too easy tbh.

Quick question

If I factory reset my pc and it reverted back to windows 7, how difficult would it be to get windows 10 back?

I am assuming the latest windows update knackered by HDMI port up and now after the windows logo , the signal cuts on the tv. I have tried reinstalling the driver for the graphics card, I have tried uninstalling the updates (won't let me uninstall the visual ones, something about windows installer) and I'm at my wits end with it now. I bought it with windows 10 on it but I'm ready to factory reset and hopefully fix the issue. Most of my games are through steam anyway so if only be losing Baldur gate and brutal legend which weren't legal.

When I reboot into safe mode now it tells me every time it's undoing the update but that doesn't fix the issue. If I can't play it on my tv then I'm stuck with a pc that I can never play!

So how do I go about getting windows 10 again after a factory reset?
