Computer games.

I'm genuinely sick of first person shooters. As in the best one ever made could come out right now and I'd roll my eyes.

It feels like 90% of all AAA games are the same thing over and over again. It's been over a decade of this crap now - can't you innovate already gaming industry?

I'm a pretty casual gamer so mainly play 'mainstream' games, but i cant remember the last time i played something genuinely different..so many games have the same mechanics

Turning Fallout into an FPS was the last straw for me. I think I've bought 3 games since - wasteland 2 (great if not played) mass effect (alright, suffered the same 'gets dead easy towards the end' that all ME's do.) and Madden 18 (Boss). Also downloaded Let It Die which has this awesome aesthetic but is so, so limited.

Destiny 2 is bloody superb. Actually a fun story as well, unlike the first one (which still is my favorite game of this console generation)
I'm enjoying it on the whole... some great changes and the story is awesome. But I there are some things really bugging me...

I understand the grind was too heavy on D1 but it's literally none existent in this one, it's pure gains everywhere with very little effort.

Exotics. They have been given out like candy now and has totally taken the satisfaction away from earning one for me, obviously there are probably some rarer than others but it seems like all the whingeing from players has worked, and they are basic items now which personally is the exact opposite of how I liked it.

Also, the game thus far isn't challenging in the slightest. Mobs are easier to kill than ever and not a single mission in the story has even posed a threat, nor the adventures which have replaced bounties/patrols.

Ok sure, raiding is where it's at but seriously where is the challenge?

Need someone tech savvy to advise here.

Basically when my computer (brand new) is connected via the Wi-Fi dongle to the internet , the internet slows down. In fact it slows down to like 1mb rather than 50 odd. I have done speed tests on both my phone and computer and the phone pulls around 15 and the computer about 1-3mbs.

When I plug my computer into the modem with the Ethernet cable, the internet is fine and speed tests come back as they should do?!

Help!

I deleted my anti virus seeing if that was the issue. I have no programs running really that shouldn't be there as it's quite minimal at the moment apart from games and I have done a quick virus scan and nothing came back from there.

Really haven't got a clue, it was never like this before today and the Wi-Fi in general isn't the issue as my phone works as it should. Just really don't know what to do to fix it.

Might be to do with your router/dongle operating on different frequencies.

Newer phones are on 802.1ac which your router probably does as well.

If your dongle is 802.1n or 802.1a/b/g then that might be why you're having speed issues.

DISCLAIMER: Not a networking engineer, girlfriend had a PC with an 802.1n wireless card in it that was forever dropping signal and only giving out around 1mb/s. Upgraded the router to a dual-band 802.1ac router and got a dongle for her PC and is now much quicker.

Cheers mate.

The shop said they will swap the dongle for a different brand but might just invest in a 30 metre cable and tack it to the sideboard instead to make sure I don't have any issues.

I don't play online just yet so it's only downloading the game I need the internet for.

For online gaming, wired is the way to go. Actually for everything bar convenience, wired is the way to go!!!

Got the Arkham bundle for $17. Time to combo some crims.
Starting with Asylum?

I enjoyed Asylum and City very very much. Started Origins, but it just didn't capture me. And I never bothered with Knight, based on it's abortion of a launch and PC frame rate lock at 30fps

Yep. Ive played through Knight without playing these two beforehand.

I actually really enjoyed Knight. Sure I do agree with the consensus about the batmobile / bad guy ending but what got me was the halucenation Joker storyline. Great storytelling and atmospheric gameplay.
