Hahaha. I am a bad anime weirdo so it's just my cup of tea. It's proper @heatmeiser
That said I think you're being a tad harsh on some elements. The real enemy isn't a person, it's more of a theme. And it's not really a button masher; turn the difficulty up and you've got to shoot, slash and dodge like multitasking ninja. Also in regards to cutscenes etc, it had a really small budget so I think they did a great job with what they had.
