Come on the Blues

Something to add that will make things much better:

Lukaku and Mirallas are currently not in the starting eleven for Belgium, but they are player number 12 and 13, Lukaku is behind Benteke and Mirallas is the one who replaces one of the midfielders/wingers

The above is based on the last games they played

Now they will want to form a successful partnership with us so they force themselves into the squad for the World Cup, something i am sure they talked about when in the hotel room during the dying moments of the transfer window.

Lukaku scoring 20 goals on his own might not be enough for him, but scoring 15 and assisting further 5 to Mirallas and vise versa might be better, so i expect a complete different attacking starting this weekend and if Gerrard forces his way to, we might have one of the most existing attacking squads in Europe with Barkley behind Lukaku, Gerrard on one wing and Kevin on the other, with Coleman and Baines overlapping, Barry and McCarth (Gibson and Osman) doing all the work in the CM. :P

Just imagine we finished in top 4 and United finished 5th (y)

The RS have started well but it is ridiculously early to start thinking Mr Potato Head is anything other than football's David Brent. Those three victories could easily have gone the other way

This is what worries me slightly to be honest. The RS were capable of beating the top teams but used to drop points against the so called mid-table teams. They haven't done that yet this season whilst the other title contenders have all been poor so far and are playing way below their usual standards.

I'm not worried about the RS winning the Premiership title by playing well, I'm worried they will win it by being the least s**t.

dont wanna be pi55ing on everyones chips here but we need to see where we are at chrimbo. Im massively pro martinez and have been since day one. But just like i was telling people they were pathetic for panicking after 1,2,3 games...the same thing applies for a win.

Im fairly sure he will take us on to the next level though and the one thing that will benefit us is that we will go completely unnoticed and unresognised. Written off by everyone as not having a chance. If Martinez can also use that seige mentally like Mourinho does so well for chelsea we could be in for an incredibly enjoyable season.

Heard some other incredible stories about him over the weekend...you just cant fail to be impressed by martinez. Led to beleive absolutely everyone in the club - right down to the cleaners and kitchen staff are just in awe of him.

Give us a cloo andy lid?

Nothings won in mid september. It's a long hard season that takes a lot of everyone.

Well im guessing everone knows about the BBQ he threw for everyone where he said bring your kids, wives gfs etc i want to speak to them all and get to know them. He wants everyone to feel part of an everton family.

got talking to 2 people over the past couple of games in the taxi club by the ground. One lad works at FF and his missus was ill one day when he was due to go in...he decided to take his kid into work while he sorts out some childminding, from what he said Wednesday was a day Moyes wouldnt normally be in at that time so he takes his lad with him, next minute...martinez comes in and the lad said he genuinely thought he was sacked. Martinez ruffles the kids hair, has a little chat with him and tells him he hopes his mum gets better soon. Lad thinks Martinez is a god.

The other was kevin sheedy. Couldnt wait to tell you how much 'they all' hated moyes. Apparantly, all this stuff about Moyes watching the kids etc etc etc was rubbish. Sheeds reckons in all his time there, Moyes watched 3 kids games. In the first 3 weeks martinez had watched 5 matches and training sessions.

Hate posting stuff like this because i know im gonna get slated for it. But from the things ive been told, its all good and although the people club might have been a moyes soundbite...it seems Martinez is the man who is actually putting it into practice.

Let the slaughter commence b)

Brilliant stuff. Thanks for the info. I'm falling in love with him here.

also supposed to have provided the players with some sort of app or data thing for their mobiles/ipads and stuff.

Strengths, weaknesses, what they do really well and what he wants them to learn and focus on. Im led to beleive that people can genuinely not beleive the level of detail he goes into on a footballing level.

Think James McCarthy said after the cup final win something along the lines of 'his tactics were that good that day it was like we had a 12th man'.

Naismith btw isnt going anywhere. Martinez is expecting good things from him this season. Tried to sign him for Wigan but Moyes had beaten him to it. He rates the lad. I dont...maybe thats why i draw cars for a living

tony cottee on twitter this morning said he isnt looking forward to a Ross Barkley inspired Everton rolling into town on saturday  dont think hes even realised the beast will be in the mix as well.

So we've got a sexed up manager that's getting us playing decent football whilst seemingly able to keep hold of that Moyes trait of dogged defence.

In Barkley we've got possibly English football's next big thing. A local lad that's set to dazzle us with trickery who at the same time will run all day for the cause.

We've added two quality midfielders to solve that longstanding problem area of centre mid. Yes we've lost Fellaini but it seems unlikely he'd be the same player under Martinez as he was under Moyes anyway.

The board seem to have had a decent transfer window and there should be a bit of cash for the January window if a bit extra is needed at Christmas.

The season seems wide open with Moyes surely likely to struggle at Old Trafford. Old red nose alone was the determining factor in that average squad winning the title last season and there's no way the festering Rooney situation will not explode again this year. Both City and Chelsea seem disjointed despite spending millions. The managerial changes made by their foreign owners may well come back to haunt them after all.

Whatever people think about Spurs summer signings the loss of Bale will be a huge blow. He was possibly worth an extra 15 to 20 points for them last year.

The Arsenal can flaunt their fancy German signing all they want but all they've done is added an admittedly great talented small tricky player to a squad already packed full of small tricky players. Their defence is still ropey. They are missing a top quality striker and Wenger seems more than a little senile to me.

The RS have started well but it is ridiculously early to start thinking Mr Potato Head is anything other than football's David Brent. Those three victories could easily have gone the other way and like Rooney at Old Trafford I feel sure the Suarez saga will blow up again when the snidey little weapon's agent gets a sniff of the January transfer window.

Then there's us. For the first time in years we have a bit of strength in depth and competition for places. We have young players that seem certain to improve in leaps and bounds as the season progresses. Whether it is an Oviedo, Defololous or a Stones these are players with genuine skill and talent. I refuse to give up on Jelavic and am open to ideas that my initial judgement of both Naismith and Kone was wrong.

We have half the England defence and one of Europe's best right backs in Seamus. Add to that Distin the Postman and his mighty schlong and the hope that Johnny will show up again this season as he starts to dream of another World Cup and a bumper contract somewhere.

If Martinez thinks Robby Robles is a goalie worth snapping up after their initial time together then that's good enough for me. Watching Tim Howard with genuine competition will be a first as well.

Gibson with the luxury of a few scheduled rest breaks can only be better whilst Osman can be used more sparingly in specific roles he can still pull off.

We've kept the brilliant Baines and hopefully he'll sign a new contract soon and we can be safe in the knowledge we've got him for the rest of his career.

We've got the beast of Lukakakaku to enjoy as he will surely rip a new one for countless centre halves at the same time as the magnificent Mirallas shows them a clean pair of heels.

So we have a great chance this season to kick on under Martinez and actually win something. It's been too long for a great club like Everton to go without a trophy. We won't get a better chance to break into that group of genuine challengers and for arguably the first time since Howard we might have a manager that has something special about him.

This is the season we can really give it a go and have a run at the title. Why not eh?

With the new TV deal and its billions and Everton up there at the top of the table playing sexy footy we might also get that new owner we need to sustain our progress.

It's not just the win against Chelsea that's led me to this conclusion but a proper step back and ponder.

It's a new dawn and all that. We are going to win the bloody league here lads. Get the kettle on.

Great stuff mate! Thumbs up :)

Totally agree Bud.

This is one of those moments where I'm hoping to be proven completely wrong.

I'm loving Martinez though. He seems to be all about the detail.

I agree with you BTW. No denying they're looking better than they've been for a while.

There's a lot of maybe's about them still though. Will the rat play up again and ruin their season? Is Brenda a decent manager(jurys out still for me) are their new players any good? Lots with no prem experience etc.

I'm as confident about at least getting above them this season as I was last year.
