We got a telly (3rd family in the street to have one!!!) for this occasion. My dad went and I had to watch !!!!! Running out at each goal to my mum in the garden who did not like football!!! He got back at 4a.m. And we all went to see the homecoming on Everton valley. Delirium for him amazing feelings for the 7 years old petit Allezlesbleus!! Shame the clip missed out Jimmy Gabriel playing keep ball at the corner flag at the end.....have a look at the longer version lads he is brilliant.

Can't remember if I've shared this before but I was searching for a clip of Harry Catterick and came across this. Hey even if you've seen it, it's worth a rewatch.

so many memories there Groucho my 16 year older brother was in the Wednesday end with their fans - ticket courtesy of my late father brother in Bermondsey London - got to London at 6 30am did not know were the flat was found it to have bacon and egg a kick about with the london family My dads brother and his two cousins all went in diferent parts of Wembly and met up after the game elated -Tickets were like gold dust!

Brilliant that Grouch , never seen that in colour.
What a team eh , and "gentleman" Jack Taylor refereeing.
Just a nipper at the time but great memories still.

Thats the best kit out of the lot too , plain and understated....Blue socks and all !

Btw noted You'll never walk alone on 5 mins in ....hope it wasnt our lot singing it
I was there it was the Sheffield fans singing

Us oldies will remember 'Pathe News' which was shown between films at the cinema.

I still remember going with my dad, who went to the final in 1966, to see this in the week after the match.

I will always recall all the Toffee's cheering the goals as they went in.

Two mates and myself got in the Wednesday end, we all paid £2.10 shillings, I think the tickets were 10 shillings face value. The hard part
about getting in was coppers on horseback asking to see our tickets, we had to wait until 2.55pm when a turnstile became free, to make a
rush for it. Even when we got in, we had to ask some Wednesday lads for their 'stubs' to get through the 2nd gate, like a true footy
supporter one of the lads went back in to ask for 3 stubs from the Wednesday fans, we finally got in about 3.05pm. Thanks to the
Wednesday fans.

My dad bought me this a few months after the final, I remember playing this one minute and Bob Dylan the next.

Watching on TV at my aunties...her and my uncle were out....when the third goal went in(seemed to take ages for Shirley Temple to get to a shooting position...) I jumped up and punched the air...but punched their beautiful new chandelier which shattered into a thousand pieces !!
Went out that that and pull the woman who is still my Mrs !!

A different, but magical, era.

If that final was to be replicated now the TV would be showing that the goal we 'scored' midway through the first half was not offside. And the studio pundits would be foaming at the mouth wondering how on earth Springett got away with hauling Young down without having a penalty awarded against him when the score was 1-0.
