It's a great move by the club to show its support and commitment to Seamus. If there is one player who deserves the reward and recognition of a lucrative investment in his future at time of potential doubt it's him.

As an aside and not wishing to distract, will FiFA not pick up the tab?

Regardless, he's a great Evertonian and like everyone else wish him the speediest of recoveries.

That is an interesting question. Typically, pre-existing conditions are excluded from any new policies (which a new contract would necessitate). I'm not sure what would happen insurance wise if, god forbid, this ultimately curtailed his career. I'm not sure the club would be covered.

Anyway, like you say, the club will have a decent prognosis on him. Seamus can focus on his recovery and not worry about his future and we will get a boss Evertonian back in the medium term.

A physio in Ireland said with a hproper programme he could be training in Oct and possibly be back Nov /Early Dec
And I'm sure he will have a proper programme
Don't forget Seamus grew up playing GAA , he's a tough bugger

As a 28 year old who's never seen us really win anything Coleman is probably my favourite Everton player ever. He is one of the best in the league in his position, has passion and heart, scores important and boss goals, goes mental when he does score and gets us as fans.

As many others have said, he should be our next captain and it's fantastic that the club has repaid him.
