This is why most businesses are run by selfish, self serving, idiots. They show there staff no loyalty, even if the member in question has grafted their backside off for 20 years to help make you rich.

Seamus could of left at any time to arsenal or united (rumours I know), instead he tried to help us get to the elite level. Throwing him away after a sh**house tackle breaks his leg, may not be 'good business' but we wont know until after he returns. What is does say though, is we look after our own. We have a little soul left in this blood sucking industry were money is king.

Please don't see this as a rant at you personally, its not, but coming from a businessman who works on forecasts, bank loans and rarely uses physical cash, I find the business side of football can be very hypocritical. Its one small reason why the general football fan feels that little bit more disillusioned with football.

Isnt business and accountancy effectively run by ifs, buts and educated guesses ?

Hence why I stated we should have given him a year with an option of a further two, if a certain percentage of games are played in the season.

It is great news and I'm happy with it, if he comes back from his injury all ok and continues to play great football then it's good news. When he gets to 33 it will be time for him to move on I'd say. We kept Osman and Hibbert for longer than they should have and it was down to being sentimental. To be a successful football club you also have to be a little bit ruthless and move players on when they are of no longer use. I want us as a club to be more strict on players and if they aren't pulling their weight then they leave. Players may come here and think they have it easy if they don't play well, Koeman will use this philosophy, will the clubs chairman and board?

Ive seen the picture. A congratulatory hug after a goal doesn't mean they are inseparable lovers. I said they apparently don't get on. Not that they are in the Bloods and the Crips and will shoot on sight

Thrilled to hear this.

I realise that some will raise caution in regards to how he recovers from his injury.
But: In this day and age of mercenaries awash in the game it is as much about Seamus Coleman the man as Seamus Coleman the footballer.
Coleman was pre-injury rated as one of the best RB in the business. We started seeing distasteful reports of Roy Keane amongst others urging him to consider a move to Manchester United.
Seamus has never forgotten the journey he went on to make it to Everton and that has helped him to remain a fantastically grounded individual in a career that is so out of touch with the working man these days.
He does lots of positive work with Everton in the Community too.

I cannot wait to see him back on the pitch.

To be fair, I have head similar. Not that they don't get on necassarily but they've had tiffs. Same as the Williams one the other week.

Tiffs ? Good job then that some of them didn't play with Alan Ball...Ive seen him as a kid ripping the guts out of teammates....then it was all smiles. It happens... doesn't mean they don't get on though hey.

Football's changed, mate. Went to the Everton evening in the Wro the other week and Joe Royle/Snods/Stewart/Unsy were recanting stories the like of which you just mentioned, but then all of them said just how the game has changed and modern day footballers are just not what they were.

The implication being they are much more precious and spats do linger.

Surely that should say Ross Barkley . Nah just kidding, great news Seamus can't wait till you're back!
